LSU didn't want to or couldn't execute those kind of plays and saban mush rushed/run blitzed the hell out of miles/cam calling a super conservative running offense up the middle.

Air Coryell, at it's most basic concept is to establish a strong run game and stretch the field vertically through the use of a deep passing game. Which is what we seem to do a lot of.
It was created maybe about 30 years ago. Problem is many newer and more effective systems have come along that work much better in the era we are currently in. There may still be some NFL teams that use the air Coryell but they have also incorporated a lot of spread concepts into it stretching the field not only vertically but also horizonally. Making use of the whole field. Creating space. Using all your playmakers and getting them in space to make plays. Doesn't mean you are running a "gimmicky" spread offense. Todays offense don't seem to get as caught up in all the labels, they just try to do what works.

Cameron recruited QBs to fit into his system and this is the first year he is getting to use one of them. He didn't recruit Jennings. Harris is his guy and for a true soph I'd say he's doing pretty well. McMillan has allegedly shown promise and will take a redshirt this year meaning he could have 3 years in the system to learn and another 2 to play or compete for the starting job with whoever else we bring in. It would be lunacy right now to switch offensive coordinators. Other than Bama game we've been very productive with a young QB.

Cameron is good...very good.
We need our QB situation to continue to develop. It's well ahead of where it was last year.
And, our scheme isn't broken...nor is it outdated. We just need to become a more developed passing attack.
Any scheme can be stopped. People are mad that our scheme was stopped. But, a spread passing attack in which the OL was dominated to the same level as our's was will also be stopped. A read/option attack with an the that was dominated to the level that our's was dominated will be stopped.

Anybody that thinks Les Miles isn't 100% in charge and responsible for the archaic offensive philosophy and game plan is delusional!
Cam Cameron is just a figurehead. That's not his Offense.
Cameron calls the plays based on the scripted game plan that spews forth from the mind of one Les Miles.
If CCC were in charge, you would see a wide open passing attack with college level Brees-Flacco-Rivers and Mettenberger style passing QB's throwing the ball.

" Offense we see is not Cam Cameron. Les Freaking Miles is the problem all the way. It's not the Offensive Coordinator.

Cam Cameron was fired because the Ravens wanted to change their offensive philosophy from "don't lose the game" to " try and win the game". Why Cam was fired.

Saturday is what happens when you use the same vanilla offense FOREVER, the defense knows your offense and the next play when you line up as well as your true soph QB. Les thinks we should be able to just push them around and you can't, even with equal talent, when they know what's coming.
By A. Einstein's definition Les is INSANE, doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.
Frankly, I've had enough insanity from him and everyone making excuses for him.

The offensive players need to go to Miles after the season and demand a change. They know the offense they have is garbage. Tenn. was much more competitive with the offense they ran

This is the best it will ever be under Miles. Les and Cameron go way back and Miles will put a decent amount of trust in him. Cameron supposedly has a penchant for developing QBs (something Miles isn't known for) and that seems to be the case thus far with Mett and Harris. This is conjecture, but I think Cameron does about as good of a job as anyone could reasonably expect within the confines of Miles' demands. I'm also inclined to believe that not a lot of up-and-coming OCs would be enthralled with the prospect of coaching under him if they have other opportunities available at elite programs.

More developed??
If by that you mean more patterns than go long and go short, you would be correct. Could you not see the difference in imagination and ability to get the ball to playmakers, without difficult passes, that Bama demonstrated ??!! Coker is also a first year starter!! How many times have we been beat by first year starters while we constantly wait to "develop" our QB, because our offense is sooooo difficult to master??!!
It's the same old BS excuses.
IT IS THE SYSTEM. IT IS THE PLAY CALLING. IT IS TOO PREDICTABLE. IT IS THE COACHES!!!

I totally agree with you. The QB is a position that has been sheltered for years. It's like I can't believe we completed a pass. Sometimes you have to put the ball in the QB's hands and say go win this. He has to have confidence and the ability to overcome some adversity or he will never learn and progress. This is where Cameron has failed, just like the previous OC.. The progress and maternity of the QB has simply not happened. Look what happened after Harris threw the interception. It was like going into a shell.

It also uses the TIGHT END in the passing game...ever heard of Kellen Winslow or Jay Novacek in Dallas? How many passes have the TEs caught in the 3 years Cameron has been the OC?
