Always gets me. My family and the Pontiffs have known each other long before I was born. Between the season ending at Rice and Wally's death, my dad had a major surgery and was in ICU for about 10 days. One day, Mr. Wally and Wally had come in to see my dad and Wally and I had went and grabbed lunch while our dad's bs'ed. As a 15 year old, this meant so much. I can still vividly remember everything about the morning when I found out he died.

I remember WAFB breaking into regular programming with the announcement of his death. As the mom of 3 kids I just felt for his parents and family.
Glad to see the foundation doing so much good.

Remember when people on here were asking why it wasn't on youtube because we wanted to watch it sometime and the guy who made it came on here and chewed arse about private property and we should have some respect?

Ever since I had my own son, this video gets to me. Miss you, Wally.

His dad is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. No way his dad would say anything like that

I believe it was the guy who made the video who said it, def not Mr. Wally. I know it was never released initially because the family asked it not to be. Things changed with iPhones.

Odd how all Wallys are cool people.

Tonight was my first Wally Pontiff Classic being that I now live in NOLA...and man, that video brought back memories. I remember being 10 years old having season tickets right by the 3rd base line. Everyone down there praised him and as a young kid, I looked up to him. Tonight I still remember how much he meant to LSU baseball. Everyone chanting "Wally" through out the stadium in the old Alex Box was great. I'll never forget that.

Was my favorite tiger at the time, what made it worse is he died on my 16th birthday. Sweet 16 literally sucked for me!

well unfortunately I've still never seen the video

The fab five that down voted tiger91, no doubt your parents must be proud of their job raising you.
