Walker starting either game 1 or 2 a given?

Obviously, Lange is almost certain to start game 1, but being that game 2 is equally important (either to preserve winner's bracket position or remain alive) has Walker at this point earned that spot? I think so.
Conventional wisdom says that you should go with a veteran in a big environment like that, but sometimes you can tell when a player has the clutch/it factor. Walker has that as evidenced by his recent performances in championship clinching situations, as well as his pedigree. I don't want to pile on Poche, but he doesn't quite handle adverse and pressure situations as well as Lange or Walker. I think you have to pitch Walker in one of the first two games.
Side note, and I know it'll be unpopular here, but I wouldn't disagree with trotting out Walker there for game 1 against FSU to preserve Lange for OSU or an elimination situation. Conventional wisdom does actually take precedence in this case because Lange is a pitcher made for a moment like this. For all the talk that will ensue about trotting out a Freshman game 1, I counter with directing your memory to 2015 when conventional wisdom had Poche start game 1 and Lange game 2. Who looked more ready for the moment? Sometimes an athlete has it, and I'm convinced Walker is built for this type of moment.
That being said, I won't complain when Lange takes the mound game 1, eta. as pointed out, because it would also mean he can be utilized more throughout the series.
Damn, I can't f'n wait for the weekend.

Walker is stone cold. Gotta give him a serious look IMO

Walker for game 2 against OSU and it ain't even close

I really don't understand how it's such an unpopular opinion. Walker is clutch and ready for this. It's ok to deviate from baseball norms every once and a while.

Lange pitches first so he can pitch more often as the series progresses.

Every team in the CWS is very good. You don't shuffle up the regular rotation in the CWS like you're facing a regional 4 seed in game 1.
Game 1 - Lange
Game 2 - Poche
Game 3 - Walker
Yes Poche struggled last night. I truly believe he will be able to clear his head and bounce back. I'm not going to hold the Texas Southern game against him on account of our 900 errors

Its not unpopular its just not gonna happen. Its been beat to death.

Exactly. If Lange starts game 2 he isn't starting in a potential bracket elimination game 3 or 4 days later.
Lange starts game 1.

I definitely agree that is determinative. Overlooked that fact at first. I still think you have to put Walker 2, though.

The shuffle would have worked in 15 if a certain pitcher could throw to first.

No you don't, and he won't..

I was fine with it then. Defended it because with only two starters and the first two games being equal, it doesn't really matter their order. You go with who you think matchups best.

No changes being made Poche game 2

I think PM and AD will go over their opponent(s) before deciding how to manage their pitching.
We have three different type pitchers in our rotation, and I would guess the regular rotation will stand pat unless PM thinks there is a real advantage in changing things up because of how our guys are doing, what the opponents look like, etc.
I'd bet they are working on formulating a plan right now.

Didn't TCU have a ton of lefties in that lineup?
