Do you people actually pay attention to what is said, or do you just hear a brief snippet and insert your own facts?
He doesn't "want" 2 million to leave Clemson. The BUYOUT on his contract is around 1 million dollars. He probably "wants" around what LSU was going to pay Chavis. The SCHOOL would want the 1 millon owed to them if he leaves

My first impression of Venables was of a petulant, arrogant guy. He repped OU on the BCS selection show in 2003 and was very dismissive of LSU (or he came across that way, at least), made it sound like they weren’t worthy of his time or attention as an opponent.

I like Venables a lot, but if he was willing to take the LSU job just a week after signing an extension at Clemson... eh. that doesn't sit right with me. A guy willing to do that has no character, and will ditch you as soon as a better offer comes along.
Bad timing. I'd love him as our DC, but I'm glad he's not taking the job, if that makes any sense. It would be pretty scuzzy for him to do so.
