Seriously. They're fricking VCU. Our historic success dwarfs theirs and our athletic department is one of the wealthiest in the country. And did they have a Shaquille O'Neal or Pistol Pete that I'm not aware of or something? All of our other sports are elite and the SEC isn't looking bad in the tournament right now, a few good years of coaching and he could be pulling in a huge check in a good conference getting great recruits from the LA/TX area. The same can't be said for Virginia fricking Commonwealth University. They're all appalled at the fact that a good coach left after 2 years but what do they expect? They don't have "destination job" resources and they will never be a destination job.

I'd be pissed too. They've gone to the dance 7 times in a row, including a final 4. We've gone dancing once during that time. It would be like U-La-La poaching Ed. O after this year (based purely on results over the last decade).
I understand this view isn't how things/programs work. But VCU has been wayyyy better than LSU in basketball this millennium.

But overall LSU has a better basketball history and program than VCU and LSU has the money and VCU doesn't have the money to match LSU's offer
