Valentine, the top-ranked junior college defensive tackle in 2016, has been admitted to school and cleared to practice, LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette confirmed to The Advocate on Tuesday.
But the 6-foot-3, 345-pound Valentine needs to complete one course during LSU’s summer intercession to become eligible for the season, multiple sources told The Advocate. The summer intercession began Monday and runs through Aug. 20.
Bonnette could only confirm that Valentine has rejoined the team and has been cleared to practice. He had no further information on his eligibility for the season.
Valentine attended a team meeting Monday, a source said, apologizing to fellow players for behavior that resulted in his dismissal from the squad last summer. When he'll take the practice field is unclear, but Valentine cannot immediately practice in full pads. He must complete the NCAA-mandated acclimation period - five days - before he can don full gear.

Has anyone ever heard of that 5 day period? I'm sure we're not privy to all the inner workings of NCAA eligibility, but that seems like a pointless step.

I'm a little confused. So does have have to wait until the class is finished or just the 5 days?

He can practice in full pads at the end of the 5 days, but he isnt eligible to play in a game until the course is over.
I wonder what course it is and who the professor is, that would tell me alot about whether or not hell be eligible.

The NCAA has now found every strange and sketchy way to make it as hard as possible for this kid to see the field. What's next?
NCAA mandate he has to eat a chili dog between each snap?

He's could have taken another class at any other time. He didn't, so he had to squeeze it in now. Sometimes the world is not out to get you.

Im assuming he was at the unit limit for summer at MGCCC, so now he has to take those units at LSU. Not the end of the world, but boy do I really want to know what class & professor it is...

Can you imagine if he flunks that class God I hope it's not an Alabama alumni teaching that class 
Every time it seems he was cleared someone jumped in and said, not so fast my friend. I sure hope if and when he is academically qualified he has an advisor that shadows him for his entire career here.

I am so done with Valentine.... This kid ha exhausted more eligibility rules than I had ever thought possible. I mean it all dates back to the beginning when he got cleared by NCAA clearinghouse but then flagged by the SEC ( conspiracy against LSU know) then after all of that he never even suited up before being kicked out. Now he is back and there is a certain requirement to practice and join team, but he has one stinking course holding him up from playing eligibility....??? Your are freaking kidding me. I wish Lac didn't get hurt so I Would not have to care anymore
In any case, he has played 6 JUCO game since HS and was arrested once shortly after leaving LSU. I really doubt that he can be counted on prior to 2017. I am not even sure if he is in good enough playing shape right now
