Just will not happen.

This isn't an out-of-conference game, where you can just flip flop the home and home and everything works out fine. That's why SCAR is fighting so hard to keep the game in Columbia or Charlotte or somewhere else near them.

LSU will not lose a home game in the future.

Do you realize the logistics in setting up football schedules? It doesn't seem like you do.

Did ASU lose one after 2005? Did we gain one after 2005?

We've already lost one, albiet a non-conference game in 2005.

The SEC will not schedule us to play 3/5 in 2021 to give USCe a makeup SEC home game.

Well, that is a bad example.

The game will be in Baton Rouge. Been saying that since yesterday morning.

And #sources are telling me it is so.

Somewhat interesting, my hotel in Columbia hasn't called yet to inquire about me giving up my room for support crews/evacuees.

Downtown Columbia has been spared all things considered. It's bad in Forest Acres (about 15/20 minutes from downtown) and Lexington (next county over).

So how many white stripes will these zebras have?

I believe a zebra's got about the same amount of black ones as he does white ones.

So the rest of the SEC is going to be happy about LSU getting 5 home games this season? I just have to think they are going to say that LSU benefited and USC did not. I think there is a possibility it will be made up down the line. It doesn't have to screw up the whole SEC scheduling. It will just be 7 years from now the game will be made up. Probably make us play two straight away games in Columbia.

Yea, that's what Im thinking as well. LSU losing a home game in 2021 or whatever the eff so we play 5 on the road and 3 at home? lol. Plus what, would we get to be the "home" team?

Doesnt make sense

Theoretically, it's a lot easier for teams out of conference to reschedule games than it is in conference.

Arizona State and LSU could have just swapped the later home game, and not had it affect any other future scheduling. IIRC, the two schools ended up agreeing to schedule a new home-and-home in the future.

LSU and South Carolina rescheduling this game in 2021 would involve the entire SEC schedule changing, so it's not quite the same.

Sure, any team willing to have their town ravaged by a hurricane can get an extra home game. We'll write it into the rules.

It might make a difference if USCe wasn't complete dog shite this year. But since they are, the venue doesn't really matter. This would be a win for us anywhere.

And even then it didn't happen. I feel that makes my point even better.

Just pointing out that it would be a lot easier to make it work if it was an OOC game.

No chance for a conference game.

So instead of the future home game in Tiger Stadium 7 years from now it then goes to Columbia. That doesn't affect the scheduling at all for the rest of the SEC. Hey maybe it won't happen, but I doubt this will be absent from their discussions during the process of moving this to BR.

Ron Higgins:

The SEC needs to move Saturday's game to Tiger Stadium

quote:

You would think by now the Southeastern Conference would have a standard policy when a scheduled game can't be played in a home stadium because of inclement weather or a natural disaster.

It's pretty simple. You move the game to the opposing team's stadium. No ifs, ands or buts.

If the league had this rule, there wouldn't any waffling whether to move LSU's scheduled game Saturday at flood-ravaged South Carolina to Tiger Stadium.

There would be no "let's see if we can find an available stadium" approach.

Arizona State, after expenses, donated the gate back to Louisiana relief efforts.

LSU didn't like having to give up a home game. But it understood the situation, and made the best of it.
