Any other Olympic sports where someone is participating with less than 4 months of actual training in it?

Neither of them are even merely "top college-level sprinters" Lauryn Williams has a freakin' Olympic gold medal in track, and Lolo has two World Championships in hurdles and is still the American record holder in the 60m hurdles, so they are "top world-level sprinters" not just college. Just because she hit a hurdle in 2008, she gets so much hate, but she's still the fastest American woman at the 60m hurdles to have ever lived.
World class athletes are just that, world class, and they would often be capable of adapting another similar enough sport if they choose to...that doesn't make bobsledding easy, just like Jimmy Graham doesn't prove that playing NFL tight-end is easy.

Apparently you don't understand just how "fast" Lolo and Williams are. They're not just some bums they found on the street or at an LHSAA track meet. They're world-class track athletes.
Why am I in an argument about bobsledding, frick.

Everyone arguing with him, what skills do you need besides speed?
You have to have the mental aspect as well. She has Olympic experience. She's been under those lights, so this won't phase her.

I get that they are exceptionally fast.
Doesn't that show that to be good at bobsled, exceptional speed is really all you need then? The driver is the only one that needs any technical skill and even then, just know the track and you should be fine.

Good grief, it's freaking BOBSLEDDING. Apart from the guy steering the thing, the others are just pushers.
All you need are strong legs and the ability to explode off the starting line. Hell, they only push about 20 yards before they hop in the sled.
Really, people, where's the skill here for a "pusher"? Any fast sprinter with some strength could do this.

If we're talking mental aspect, maybe they should reconsider lolo

Short heavy sprinters are the best.
Big, strong legs and great jump off the blocks.
You have to have world class speed and/or leg strength and also learn the rhythm of leaning with your teammates.
For the males, they can't be skinny sprinters. They have to be heavier set and still lightning fast/strong. Thats a rare combo.

Nah, man. Any fast fricker can just run on ice for 4 months and make the U.S. Olympic Bobsled Team. All it takes.

All you described was being fast and having the right body type.

Those people grow on trees, you're right.

Once again, not arguing how fast they are.
If that exceptional speed paired with only 4 months of training in the actual sport get you to the Olympics, then there is not much skill required in bobsledding BESIDES being very fast.
Run and push for 20 yards, get in sled and hold on if you aren't driving.

Yeah, once you get over that little bitty hurdle of HAVING WORLD-CLASS frickING SPEED AND BURST, bobsledding is a cake walk.

What about all those highly ranked European teams without world class sprinters? They just have normal fast people but have figured it out.
Don't need to be "world class" just need to be fast. 20 meters on ice doesn't provide much separation

I imagine they train their entire adult lives for it.
