I could easily see us playing Bama in Miami for the title again this year after LSU beats Bama in BR.

The ONLY way this would happen is if everyone else has two losss and Bama/LSU have either zero or one. Thats the ONLY way.

"We are fortunate to be at a place that allows you to compete for that (No. 1) spot," LSU coach Les Miles told USA TODAY Sports in a statement. "We recognize that it (No. 1 ranking) is more of a reflection of a body of work and understand that right now, it's a spot that we hold and not one that has been earned. It's a position that we enjoy. Now we have to go out and play in order to keep

I respectfully disagree. The BCS proved itself to be correct in putting Bama in over Oky State last year when Bama handed us our arse on January 9th.

Just because we don't like the outcome as LSU fans does not mean that the exact same process could not play out again this year.

Note: If LSU or Bama beat the other in the regular season by a convincing margin, then I agree with you.

the outcome on 1/9 proved that rematches are worth their merit.

I could easily see another Mulligan given the media's love for Bama and Saban.

But I respectfully disagree that because Bama won the NC last year means they deserved the chance to play for the NC. That's circular reasoning.

Subjectivity allowed Bama back in. It's why the BCS has always sucked, and it's why it's only a lame duck system now.

Playoffs make you earn your spot.

I was celebrating when I saw this then I remembered the last time LSU was #1 and Bama was #2...

I'm a bit short of breath and I think I hyperventilated a little, and I had a flashback to...

But i'll be ok...

I have no problem with this.BUT The reason I said this is NOT cause I am an LSU fan. There were people that just don't like the rematch idea and after last year, Someone is gonna be left out even If it may not be fair.

5 SEC in Top 10

That is absolutely INSANE! Gonna be another ballbreaker in the SEC this year.

This! Whoever wins the SEC will have earned their spot in the BCSNCG. It's gonna take another herculean effort to run the table again this year.

FIFY

At least the BCS has a few computer polls in the mix to dilute the obvious subjectivity of poll voters, who, whether they want to admit it or not, have biases that usually show up the worst at the most critical times.

5 of the to 10 in the SEC and we are for sure playing 4 of them. My money id on playing the dawgs in Atl too which would be 5 of 5.

I can't wait till somebody says something about our schedule

I get that you've benefited from the system twice, but you sure as hell got screwed the last go round. There's a reason the BCS is a goner: It sucks.

LSU gets preseason No. 1 nod without a returning starter at quarterback

But what makes this selection a little curious is the fact that LSU must replace its two starting signal callers from last season.

ESPN just ran a graphic with data "saying"

no SEC team that started off #1 has finished #1 in the modern era, defined as 1980 to now.

In the 6 year streak of SEC national champs, there were a few SEC teams #1 to start the season. None of them won the natty that year. Some other SEC team won.
