Well said. You just love reading moronic comments on this thread saying absolute nonsense like he doesn't deserve another chance, but this is really a lose-lose for Mathieu and he would only choose this option if he loved/cared about the school, the coaches, and his teammates.

he had established himself but if he was to be let back no way he is handed the job. he would have to prove he is still the best

Idiotic post. Miles would let him use the facilities for proday even if he were at McNeese.

Also, gunners are gonna rail you Saturday!!

If he's able to remain a student, it would be a great idea. Best possible scenario IMO would be for him to get out of the state. Take some online classes through LSU, but remove himself from the situation

THIS And what a true leader and example he would be to all kids who have to struggle out of life's tough situations and beat the odds....humility is a great motivator to some, and he has been humbled to the nth degree if he were to work it out to stay here.

Irrelevant...he'll leave after the 2013 season anyway. He's not going to take off a year and then comeback and play 2 more seasons.

But technically, yeah he probably could.

I couldn't imagine the first time he suits up for McNeese, and it hits him "I was just playing for LSU...........and a Heisman finalist". Ego or no ego, that would be tough to do.

Yeh and it isn't to put down Mcneese but LSU probably has top 5 facilities of all FBS schools. I would think it would be a complete culture shock.

I don't think it was Mcneese that scared him. It was Nicholls. That place is scary. Any one remember the Turley quote? Turley was a douche though.

I guess we will just have to get creative and find some BS 1 year scholarship. Anybody have any ideas?

Probably but at this point if he sits out and comes back...kind of says he really wants to play for the school. And let's be honest...he needs the development work in coverage.

yea but then what happens when he comes back to br and is around everything again. I honestly dont think going into hiding would be the best thing for him. His back is against the wall if he is let back he has to stay here and prove he can be sober among temptations.

I think that assumes a lot as far as injuries etc. If it were me I'd ask for a RS, and if I didn't use my 4th year then fine. But it would sure suck to not take a RS, get there and need it. I suppose there is always a medical RS.
