Paps hitting just under .400 has been a pleasant surprise. Going to strictly righty continuing to help.

He still takes some awkward swings on breaking balls. If his average stays up it really doesn't matter though.

His opponent BA the 4th time through the order is 1.000. SAD!

This, BIG TIME. He was the only part of the lineup that was questionable. With him batting like this, we may be heading far down the road with the starting pitching going like it is and it looks like the relief pitching may be slightly coming together to build to Newman. But a connection from starter - peterson/gilbert/kiel - newman is looking positive.

They'll never develop a 5th starter at this rate.

Someone posted on here last week he was getting over an elbow issue. Shouldn't be long before he's ready to go.

Even when he was struggling at the plate last year he showed flashes that he could develop into a nice power bat that could be used to protect someone like Deichman in the lineup. Kid's got some good pop. If he keeps making steady contact there will be very few if any guys pitchers won't have to fear.

Yeah bro, wish he would have just signed that contract offer. He's really killing the team with his eyes set to the majors.

Breaux/Jordan highlighted due to the discussion about whether the platoon should stay or one should get the majority of the starts.

Walker/Gilbert highlighted due to the discussion about Gilbert's future role whether it remains in the pen or perhaps Sunday starter.

I've been preaching Gilbert might need the opportunity as a Sunday starter. Hess can stay midweek with walker long relief out of bullpen IMO.
