Why are you so sure that Bama will be the best tem on our schedule?

I just have a feeling. However, if Harris wins the job, he will have my undying support on the field.

based on the spring game and practice reports, seems like the one who would need to win the job is your boy Jennings.

Not that it is solid proof but #2 preseason. 3 national championships in the past few years. Constantly recruiting #1 class. Game of the century. I don't know. I'm an LSU fan through and through but I'm not going to deny Bama's success. We can always win it all. I'm not denying that possibility.

With such a young team it's not unreasonable to think we drop a couple of games. We could also run the table. I think the solid prediction is 9-3 or 10-2.

12-0 regular season without throwing a pass, fournette wins heisman, but gives it back the reason is he's bout team goals winning NC!! Then goes on to win NC and MVP!!!

Yeah, this team is hard to predict. I'm saying 10-2, but wouldn't be shocked if we did better.

To the occasional fans who are predicting 8-4 or worse, is that the result of your sincere and objective assessment of LSU and how it stacks up against the competition? Or are you bloodthirsty Les Miles haters who are secretly hoping for a calamity that puts him on the hot seat heading into '15.

Come on, tell the truth. There are no strangers here, only friends you've never met.

No one can say that anyone is the best till all the games are played. But if you look at the schedule the highest ranked team with a ton of talent ranked #2.. Yeah they're the best on the schedule. Let's take a look at who else is on there.

Wisconsin. Good football team no doubt. Better than Bama? Highly doubt. Not even going to mention the rest of the OOC teams.
Auburn. Good football team. Which we beat. I don't see AU being better than Bama. Took a lot of luck to beat them.
Moo St. Please.
Arky. Please.
A&M. Couldn't beat us with JFF. Please.
Ole Miss. Did beat us. Have a ton of young talent. Will be a threat this year. Better than Bama? OM is 2-20 against Alabama recently. Last win came in 2003.
UF. Could make an argument. They have a ton of talent. But coming of a terrible season in which they lost to Georgia southern and had two players block each other? Not better than Bama.

I'm sorry. Alabama is the best team on our schedule. We can beat them. They can beat us. It'll be a hell of a contest regardless. Typically is.

Was Bama the best team on our schedule last season? They were preseason #1. Auburn wasn't even ranked.

I'm just pointing out that it isn't that clear who the best team is or is going to be before any games have been played. I don't care what the program's history is, especially if a number of the starters from last season are gone.

Honestly I would still say that Bama was better than Auburn. I think they win that game in overtime besides a miracle kick return. On top of that they were manhandled by us, nearly lost to OM, Moo st, A&M, and Georgia. You're right. Technically the rankings mean nothing and Alabama could go 0-12. But I have no problem saying that they're the best team on our schedule. Even with who they lose.

9-3 losses to Auburn, Ole Piss and another game. I think we beat Bama though.

So hard to predict with the unknown...quarterback play. If our young starter, whoever it is, plays well, we can compete in every game. I believe we have the talent to win every game, but we all know how difficult that will be. The key games of course: Bama, Ole Miss, Tamu, and Arkansas. I like us at home this year, so i believe we beat the gumps and ole miss. Hopefully we just play up to our ability in all 4 of these games and win 3 of 4. 11-1 sounds crazy though....who knows, just too hard to predict how the youth will perform.

15-0 National Champs.

Fournette and Jennings both win multiple Heismans this year.

Seriously though I'm going 11-1 and the loss is either to Bama or Florida.

Good grief.

Its based on reality. The reality is we have two choices at QB: 1) a new young sophomore with little more than 1 unimpressive game under his belt and 2) a true freshman who has yet to run out of the tunnel for a college football game.

Next, we have an entire new batch of young, inexperienced receivers. They have essentially never played a full game together with each other or the QB that will be throwing to them. Our leading returning receiver is a sophomore who caught 7 passes last year.

Finally, we have an inexperienced and, so far at least, unremarkable DL. People love to talk about Hunter and his arms...the reality is that he had all of 3 sacks and 5 QB hurries last year in 13 games. Rasco is ballyhooed...he had 4 sacks and 8 hurries in 13 games. Plus, he is coming off shoulder surgery. Our DTs will be LaCouture, Thomas, Johnson, Bain, Gilmore, Herron, and Valentine. None of them have had more than one meaningful start in their careers. LaCouture played in all 13 games last year but was unremarkable to the eye and on the stat sheet...1 tackle for loss, 1 sack. Thomas has been here three years and done almost nothing. He looked unremarkable last year. Johnson has been here 4 years and done absolutely nothing; when he has played he has been easily forgettable. Bain, Gilmore, Herron, and Valentine are all unproven and yet to play a meaningful down. The DL is where games are won and lost; Alabama, Auburn, and most other teams we will have to play will be running big fast backs at us all day long.

Our LBs are average. Our S are average. Our CBs are young, exciting, and very good. Our OL will be good and our RBs are good which will help take some pressure off our young QB and WRs. Its not that I don't think we will be good, its just that I think we will be reloading. We will better a year from now. A reloading year for LSU is 8-4, maybe 9-3. That is not a testament to how bad we are but how good we are.

Carry on...12-0, Miles hater, rabble rabble rabble.
