He must be a reliever. Only threw like 27 innings this year if memory serves me

Yea longest app. was 4.1i vs ECU. Imagine they'll be happy to get 3 out of him

LSU needs to jump out early. It is an elimination game for UNCW so the coach will have to use the bullpen early and often if LSU is able to bring the pressure.

The pen is their strength, I have to think the kid who threw Saturday is available if need be. 43 pitches versus Sat night.

I think we need to not worry about their pitching and be concerned about ours. They are a good hitting team and pound anyone not named Lange. Poche better pitch much better than he has of late.

i have seen probably 75% of their games this year. when he is on, he's almost unhittable, but when he's bad, he is really bad. He can get pretty rattled, so the crowd could play a major factor in this one.

They've used their 3 main starters. No one else has more than 5 starts

They have a very well rested bullpen, especially that guy who threw 43 pitches against us on Saturday (Ramsey) will likely be good to go today, he's their best reliever.

They have a ton of relievers with very very low batting average against, but quite a few have high ERAs.

Ramsey, Jordan 1.69 | .193
Gesell, Jared 2.43 | .181
Crump, Justin 2.70 | .307
Shepley, William 2.89 | .208
Lockamon, Clay 3.38 | .235
Barnes, Whitman 3.71 | .194
Magestro, Austin 4.14 | .226
Roberson, Josh 4.46 | .221

Most of those guys haven't even pitched yet this weekend, Crump is getting the start who is the outlier in this with a low ERA but very high BA Against. Roberson hasn't pitched in a month so I dunno if he's hurt or what.

Magestro, Barnes, Shepley, Crump and Gesell ALL haven't thrown a pitch this weekend. Lockman threw 5 pitches yesterday...

So yeah, their bullpen is stacked for 2 games today if need-be.

I haven't seen anything to make me think they are going to "pound" our pitching.

We aren't going to roll out of bed and beat these guys. It's going to take good baseball. But, you've gone off the deep end with your respect for UNCW.

Both teams have a full bullpen.

LSU will start their #2 and #3 (if needed). That's our advantage from a pitching standpoint.

The first sign of trouble with Crump...I'm going to Ramsey if I'm UNCW, we couldn't do jack shite against that guy and I would pitch him till we got a run on him. IIRC we did get a run but only on a couple seeing eye singles and in his 3rd IP which might be stretching it for him.

Ramsey would have been hard pressed to provide anything last night after throwing 40+ late Sat. Another break for UNCW, although now LSU has seen him.

It should be an electric atmosphere. Even on a Monday, Tiger baseball fans will bring the opposition to its knees.

This team should watch last year's meltdown and come out with a business mindset.
