I live in Georgia and have close ties to UGA and Clemson and I went to both the Chick-fil-a Bowl and this past weekend's game in Athens.

What I've noticed and can attest to by knowing folks at both schools who follow both Clemson and Uga is that their wins against us seemed to be much more meaningful to them, than wins by us in either game would have been.

In the Chick-fil-a bowl game, a win by us would have meant, "OK we beat an ACC team...as expected."

A win against UGA on the road would have meant, "We are really good on the road against SEC teams."

But to Clemson, it was their coming out party...a huge victory against an SEC team. They wanted/needed it more than we did.

To Georgia, it was like they won the National Championship. They celebrated in Sanford stadium a lot longer than tiger fans do in Death Valley after good wins. They certainly seemed to want that win and enjoy that win more than I can say we did.

What's your take on this? Is LSU and Bama now everyone's standard to beat? or have we gotten so used to winning that we take good wins and close losses for granted?

Ga's not won as many big games as we have in the last 5ish years. Look at Murray's record against good teams. To answer your question, Bama is the standard, and lsu has come closest to it.

We were talking about that last night. The atmosphere after the game walking to the car was that of the BCSNCG game in the celebration of the fans after the game.

Do recall, they have been abysmal in big games in recent years.

As I stood and soaked in what a great game I had just witnessed, UGA came back out on the field to celebrate with their fans. It meant a lot to them.

Yeah, my brother who has deep Clemson ties says that most of their fan base believes that their win against us in Chick-fil-a bowl last year turned their program around almost over night in terms of their own fan bases' perceptions of their head coach and team.

Not so sure what to make of UGA's win against us except that I don't think the sky is falling and I really enjoyed all of the LSU fans around me yesterday in section 303.

Geaux tigers.

If you are correct and it meant more to them than us, then we have a hell if a lot bigger problems in BR than bad defense.

I guess since fans don't play the game, we will have to wait and see if our coaches can make necessary adjustments and the players can execute down the road in the big games that follow.

I think they will, and no one is taking this loss harder than I am because I live here in Georgia and the smack has already begun for me.

Still proud to purple and gold though.

Our fans are just accepting the chicken bowl these days. Pathetic.

We're lucky if our fans make it to the end of the game. They're too busy trying to get back to their drinking and tailgating.

I also live in Ga and its unbelievable how many fans were so quiet on social media before the game and the minute the game was over they came out of the woodwork. They knew if they lost to us their chances to make it to pasadena took a huge hit Most were terrified of playing us and just 3 mere weeks ago they were screaming for Richt to be fired. They still have to face Fl as do we and I think the gators are better with the new qb than the one who got hurt. This season is far from over and call mea posi tiger but I believe we will be fine and that adjustments will be made.

Wore mty purple and gold proudly today while out and about.

True, but they've never come back out. It was nice to see the UGA players come back out of the locker room to celebrate with the fans, who never left the stadium. Reminds you of what college football is all about.

Of course LSU is a huge win for any program. UGA only had to beat us and the rest is clear sailing.
