I heard PM on three different occassions saying they prefer to play at 2, or they had trouble picking up the ball early in the afternoon games because of the shadows. Florida has played every game so far at 6pm in this CWS. They have also had a record amount of strikeouts in this CWS a vast majority coming in the 1st through 4th inning.

It would not surprise me if PM stalls the first hour of this game if LSU batter don't pick up the ball well in the 1st inning. I think we will see several mound visits by Pap and maybe once an inning by Dunn. Hitters may take a little more time between pitches to try to get that shadow moving across the infield.

They need to go into the 4 corners stall offense, ala dean smith.

The game tonight is an hour later, so not as much stalling needed. I don't think full daylight or total darkness could have helped much more against their pitcher last night. His stuff was nasty, to righties especially.

Guess Poche won't be pitching past the 3rd inning then. If you know baseball then you wpuld know that once your pitcher gets a third visit to the mound by a coach they are to leave the game.

No. Allowed 1 mound visit per inning. Can have 9 mound visits in a game and have a complete game by Poche. When you get to 2nd mound visit in the same inning. A change must be made.

Is Florida pitching on a different mound?

YEs the game is for 7, but not sure if the shadows will be completely gone by then.

I'm not saying the whole game, but 1st 2 innings when the shadow is past the pitcher's mound.

I love when someone makes a remark about people not knowing baseball and then says something really stupid right after

No but when you are clearly struggling at the plate, you want the pitching conditions to be advantageous for your strikeout pitchers. Hit to contact pitchers will not be able to utilize the shadows as well.

No, but when a guy is that good the last thing you want is to add difficulty to it. It would be the same for them if Poche or Lange were on the mound.

I'm sure it made Reynolds a little harder to hit than usual, but he just doesn't have the kind of stuff their guy did.

I'm so confused. Should we push the game back because of the shadows or move the game up because of the potential rain tonight?

It's a shame that LSU doesn't pitch from the shadows in the same game that UF pitches from the shadows. CPM needs to be fired for that.
