I was listening to a scouting report regarding the regionals on Lafayette radio yesterday from someone who operates out of Austin, TX. I don't remember his name but he exclusively follows and writes on College Baseball. Says that UCLA has 4 pitchers that are high round draft picks.

38 Claypool, Garett. 2.05
23 Klein, Dan....... 2.13
47 Bauer, Trevor.... 2.84
27 Rasmussen, Rob... 2.89

Pitching depth wise...

if we are to win these regionals we will have to out pitch both UC irvine and UCLA

also the UC irvine pitch has 100ks 15 walks :OMG:

he'll be rusty tho.

and i think we can out slug both these teams, not necessarily have to out pitch them IMO

Now go look at Texas's team ERA's from last year and Irvine from 2 years ago, postseason is just a whole different ball game

I agree...but we're not playing in Alex Box. Just thought those were some impressive ERA's as a staff overall. If we play close offensively to what we did in the SEC tourney, we have a shot. But pitching wise from an ERA and depth standpoint, you have to be concerned. I just don't know if we match up coming out of a losers bracket. This makes tonight's game critical.

to be fair you post info that most of us looked up Monday around 11:35am. and didn't even post the stats of their "best" pitcher

but calling you a shitty poster was kinda rude

Oh...ok, so it was Germans. Fair criticism.

I simply posted the 4 pitchers with the lowest ERA's from the UCLA website stat sheet. If you noticed in the thread, I did post the other pitchers after your comment. I certainly don't claim to be a baseball expert by any means, but I feel certain I'm not the first poster who started a thread with information previously discussed.

The main point of starting this thread was pitching depth. Whether it matters this weekend, we'll see.

no worries

this is how i see it playing out

tonight vs. Kent State - Gerrit Cole
tomorrow night vs. LSU - Bauer
sunday morning vs. Irvine - Rob Rasmussen
sunday evening vs. LSU - Claypool
monday (if nec.) vs. LSU - Cole & the rest of the staff

someone said earlier that these are the only 4 pitchers they've started all year. find that hard to believe

ok wow just looked it up and it's true
