How many of Wing's punts did he down inside the 10. This is the most overlooked aspect of his game and the success of that defense. It was the reason the defense was able to play with such wreckless abandon that year. Sigh.... memories...

Soula Breaux, I can't believe you didn't get more up-votes. Those were some very interesting & telling #s you cited.
You are right, Mathieu had such a great impact so often. Though Peterson might have appeared to be a better pro prospect, Mathieu has made strong contributions in the NFL as well.
It is a team game--both were outstanding at LSU & continue to excell as Arizona Cardinals.

I think 2011 was the worst year of my life. That team was the greatest and TM7 was the greatest player of all time...but it just didn't work out that way... Sigh.

Those numbers compare apples to oranges. Both are great players that excelled at their job. However, those numbers reflect two guys used in vastly different ways.
Sure, Mathieu had a very large tangeable impact on games. Peterson simply shutdown the entire half of his field. It's a bit hard to accrue stats when you are avoided by the opposition.
