"Cardinals CB Tyrann Mathieu has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3.
Colin Kaepernick threw at slot CB Mathieu three times last Sunday, getting picked off twice and completing just one pass for two yards. The Honey Badger returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown. Now one season removed from tearing his ACL, Mathieu looks every bit of 100 percent. He's Pro Football Focus' No. 1 cover corner through three weeks, allowing 7.1 YPR."

He's scored the most fantasy points of any DB (in my league) this year.

I honestly can't remember a time when LSU football felt this high profile...

You can't turn on a college or NFL game without people talking about current or former Tigers.

Dude is a absolute FREAK with an innate ability to get to the ball and force a turnover. I really hope this guy stays healthy. He is and will be fun to watch.

Also the guy is awesome for kids to look up to because of him overcoming his demons. Also he shows what you risk by making dumb decisions. (getting kicked off the team)

Super proud of this guy and the way he represents LSU. I am very glad that him and LSU are on good terms and look forward to watching him for years to come.

He should have won it in week 1 too.

He destroyed our offense and was the reason the Saints lost. He flys to the ball like a bullet and is a sure tackler. Lets them play the deep ball while limiting underneath damage

The Cardinals are looking real good this year. Kevin Minter is coming on strong at LB. What a great, underrated Tiger. His game vs. Florida in 2012 was truly an epic effort.

I want to see Arizona give Mathieu an opportunity to return some punts. I'm sure there are a number of players on the roster with better straight-line speed, but Mathieu has great change of direction and moves, plus he's just an elite playmaker.

He has instincts that give him an advantage on every down that he plays even at his size. I seem to recall the Bama and LSU fans making statements like this after the '12 NCG. But the issue wasn't so much McCarron in my opinion. TM7 was covering an elite wide-out who in my opinion covered up a lot of what was flawed about the Bama offensive attack and we lost a few of the battles downfield in that game. But Tyrann had great cover skills at LSU and there was no evidence aside from his personal life that said that he couldn't be elite in the NFL.

Since Miles took over the program, we have really turned the corner. He just needed some time to establish his plan

TM gotten beaten routinely by their TE, not any wide-outs.
