Of course he did. What would you want to hear? He needs to keep the troop motivated.

You think "the troops" can't see what he says to the media? How often do you hear the head coach of a top 5 ranked team say "we aren't good enough this year, maybe next year we will be"

If Brian Thomas doesn't drop the ball at the end of the 3rd Quarter then he definitely has a fantastic game but Coleman definitely had the better day from an impact standpoint. Idc what the receiving yards say.

Since last week, posters were comparing him to Burrow, do you have a chart of Burrow's positive/negative throws in his second year.
Maybe Clemson, Oklahoma, or Georgia.
It was a heck of a start for his Heisman trophy celebration.
Like Burrow, after his last game, do you think he will give credit to his Head Coach for his achievements?

Our starting right guard is complimenting FSU’s DL in the 3rd quarter

Not soft. Alignment.
We have achieved Alignment. Don't be meanie!

I love how a week ago it was all about how this was a championship quality team and this was our year and now it’s “it’s only year 2” and “Kelly needs more time”.

So are you saying that game can’t change peoples minds?

IF BK can't handle the pressure any better than he did Sunday, before comments and after comments, he is likely to lose a huge part of what he has been trying to build. Players today have too many options.

elite coaches can build championship level rosters in year 2

examples?

uh, Saban won the SEC in Year 2 at LSU

Saban won the West and went to the SECCG in Year 2 at Alabama (and won the NC in Year 3)

Urban Meyer won the NC in Year 2 at Florida

Urban Meyer went undefeated in regular season and went to the Big10 Championship game in Year 2 at Ohio State (won the NC in Year 3)

Yeah - we all ate up the rat poison this summer. And we died in the second half only to be reincarnated for Grambling this weekend

Would you agree Ed left the program in FAR WORSE condition than UGA was left by Richt?

Yeah, just the fact that we lost to them a second time is galling, but losing like *that* was really frustrating to watch.

Dykes did it in 1 year. Got destroyed worse than LSU against UGA. Lost to Colorado in first game this year.

75 yards of that came on a garbage time TD with backups in for FSU and down 28. It was literally a meaningless TD.

quote:

Nuss would have made no impact(Looking at last years stats nuss has more int with less than half the amount of yards compared to JD, and he can't run for the life of him)

Despite your so called criticism of Nuss and the fact he was often playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers when he came in (if that), he still had a higher QB rating than Daniels.

Each of them brings something different to the table. Outside of LSU winning the SEC West/SEC this year, letting JD get even more starts and costing LSU development for Nuss and Walker Howard, that decision will be an utter and total failure.

JD was brought back to win a title, not simply compete. That was the whole argument for it. He has not shown ANY improvement in the first game. He's exactly what he was last year, and that is the issue.

His average depth of target was 8.1 yards. Only four throws traveled beyond 15 yards. Of those - three were “bad” throws. The one good throw was 24 yards downfield for the 75-yard touchdown at the end. His longest throw was 34 yards where he missed a wide open Brian Thomas, who did slide to get his hands on it, but dropped it.

So his only good throw beyond 15 yards was in garbage time against 3rd string backups for FSU.

My personal opinion is Kelly isn’t trying to build a 1 year team and is trying to rebuild the program to a championship level. We just aren’t there yet.

His current recruiting strategy doesn't seem to support this since he is leaving major holes unfilled in recruiting.

Please don't resort to the transfer portal, because that is not how you build the foundation of a juggernaut.

I personally think there is too much talk of national championships. Just focus on the process. We came into that FSU game a little arrogant and not gritty.

Will be interesting to see how this team develops over the course of the season.
