We currently use DirecTV, but I'm starting to think we may go a different route this year. Does anyone have experience using Dish Tailgater? What are the pros/cons?

Outside of Dish/DirecTV, are there any other options out there? We tried to stream from other devices, but once campus gets crowded, the signal is very unreliable.

Other than streaming I'm not too sure. There are antennas that are pretty inexpensive and can get a great signal/reception pretty consistently as long as you have it propped on top of your tent. But that obviously only helps you with CBS/Fox/ABC/NBC. We're moving to Dish Network (traditional dish, not the tailgater) this season from streaming on iPhones.

I saw "TV" and immediately assumed the thread was about Valentine.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm on The Rant entirely too much.

For tailgating I set up near the pentagon on the north side of campus and either use wifi from the building (student) to stream it to my laptop then put it on a tv through an hdmi cord, or I use $10 bunny ears which will pick up the basic channels with decent quality.

Damn. We'd do that if I had any kind of belief we could make it one tailgate without that laptop getting destroyed.

It's a hassle to get the signal sometimes and it is more than $80/month to get all of the sports channels including SECN. The Tailgater System automatically finds the signal and is cheaper on monthly basis...I just don't know anyone with experience using it and how easy/reliable it is.

We also use an antennae to get the CBS/ABC/Fox/NBC broadcasts on a second TV.

Just looking for best option for cable.

We tailgated through the monsoon that was the Saturday of the WKU game. We hung a tarp and everything. Clean was a bitch but the laptops and stuff weren't bad to manage.

But the cheap antenna worked like a charm.

Oh it's not the weather I'm concerned about. It's my friends. I'm the seat saver so I'm not there for cleanup and most of my friends are hammered/blacked out by then and I'm not there to babysit so I basically pray every week that everything makes it out in one piece/at all.

Oh yeah. That's understandable. I have trustworthy people. I'm also a seat saver.
