They definitely weren't intentional. They were just having a terrible night on the mound. At least two of the HBPs were breaking balls that hit guy's toes. If those Tulane pitchers had enough control to hit a guy on the toe with a breaking ball, they would have been using it to throw strikes and win the game instead of letting us embarrass them like that.

They're not that good of a staff. Don't let their ERAs fool you. It's hard to hit a pitcher with control problems.

there is nothing to be gained by hitting a guy on a breaking ball.
