2006 team may be the most talented in the past 10 years. It was loaded.

2006 was when I saw the writing on the wall with Miles. I'm amazed it took people until 1/9/12 to start seeing it. And the people who are just now seeing it? Wow.

The sunshine pumpers are actually very scary how delusional they are.

I agree. The first half against Wisconsin wasn't a joke, that's who we are. We have a lot of ignorant fans that get a hard on when we smack around Sam Houston and UL Monroe. Last night is who we are

So you saw 2 sec titles 4 bcs bowls and And a national title on wall? Some of you posters are dumb. Since 2006 Lsu has been the most consistent program in cfb. You posters act like anyone can win at lsu florida has more resources and they suck. Texas has more resources than any program in cfb and they suck. The coach matters

What part of Miles' failures against AU and UF in 2006 didn't you see?

What part of having 2 losses with that 2007 LSU squad did you not see? It took a fricking miracle for Miles to get his one NC you pumpers hold onto for dear life.

What part of 1/9/12 actually surprises anyone with half a brain?

And there's so much crap in between all of that and after that. shite, LSU could've been in the NC again in 12 but Miles cost them that Bama game as well.

Every team had two losses. Who beside lsu deserved a shot. Take into account lsu dismantled the account cc champ.

Regardless of what happened on 1\9 Miles just gave lsu it's great sec season ever. There is no debating it. 2011 lsu was lsu greatest season in sec play. Outside of 1 game lsu dismantled every team.

I dont think you realize how hard it is to win the sec west. The best coach in cfb with the best talent has won in 3 timed in 7 years. Miles has won in 3 times in 9 years. There isn't much difference in that.

agreed, that team shoulda been undefeated and not won some of those games they way they did being so close and lucky. Miles was outcoached in a bunch of wins that year. But nobody looks at that as you know. it's why they do not know shite about his other flaws i have laid out ad infinitum.

good point that hardly nobody brings up. that coulda been his 4th nc if he wins in 06, 07 and 2011.

With what Personnel? Did it ever occur to anyone that we have an inexperienced QB with limited ability and basically a brand new crop of WR's?

I think I mostly agree, but I also think Cameron gives us reason to be optimistic about the QB situation still. And I'd also wait and see with Grimes, sample size isn't big enough to say for sure that it's the current coach to blame for this.

This season and next really are the big metrics for whether we get back to being elite though. 2012 recruiting class wasn't highly regarded but 2013 and 2014 are, so if we're going into 2016 and we haven't seen drastic improvement, it's not gonna happen.

And none of this has anything to do with Miles. He is who he is and I think he's not changing. But his ceilings as a coach have been defined by his assistants, so I'm hesitant to say it's over for him when he just hired a guy we know is a home run (Cameron) and a guy who's still too new to LSU to evaluate (Grimes).

That actually lowers his percentage a point. Either way he has a 42% sec win rate to a 33% win rate. It is hard to get excited about possibly increasing your SEC title chances by 10% given the huge risks inherent in a coaching change to anyone but say Nick Saban (who we can't get btw).

When Miles retires, the next hire without question has to be nailed.

Who is delusional? 2006? Seriously? Why the frick do you still even follow LSU? Why are you wasting your time on the message board of a team that has tortured you for more than half a decade?

Jax, I agree on "who else should have gone" since the others had 2 losses as well (except Kansas). I know all about the VT beat down and used that as the reason LSU "jumped" them at the end. But that's not my point and I think you know that. That 2007 team almost had 4 losses. The 2 losses were ridiculous and in ANY other CFB year, LSU would have been playing in a different bowl. What would you guys hold onto if that happened?

Again though, the writing was on the wall. You saw it happen against Arky and again against UGA. Miles' switch to JJ and his stubbornness/arrogance was not changing shite and he led his team to slaughter in the NC. Also, as much as I enjoyed 13-0 and watching LSU beat that schedule, you can't say "regardless" when the season ended the way it did. You can't polish a turd.

We all do. And that's why you HAVE to capitalize when you have the stud teams.
quote:

The best coach in cfb with the best talent

LSU has some of that "best" talent. The difference is who's using it.

Listen, I like Miles as a man. He seems like he really cares for the players and loves football. But in some ways, he comes off as a glorified fan. He looks lost, is stubborn and arrogant (which is a terrible mix), and is over matched when talent matches up. He is one of the luckiest SOB's I have ever seen and without some of that voodoo, I wonder what you guys would think of Miles w/o that NC.
