I think both Quinn and Cooper should be benched indefinitely for their sub-par performances last night.

You are correct...Quinn is not utilized properly. He made 3 first down catches vs Florida & 2 "clutch" catches for 42 yds (one over the middle he took a pop) vs Ole Miss...in a game Dural only had 1 catch. Yeah He laid an egg last night...but he wasn't the only one...Melvin Jones drop in OT was as bad as it gets.

Diarse got in the doghouse vs Miss St for more than one alligator arm attempt in case you missed it...FACT! A lot of these posters here(not you) have no clue...he might get more reps moving forward after last night.

Dupre has talent but does not like to go up the middle at 6'-3" 185...

Sunnydaze...just bec your were a slow white nerd in PE doesn't make Diarse faster than Quinn

I'm positive Trey is beating himself up after last night. Its the worst hes ever done in a game. But what has Diarse done to suggest hes better other than the one play vs. Wisky? Quinn is faster and a better route runner. The overreaction with the one is something I don't quite understand.

Meh. I think Quinn is better than Diarse.

I just don't know how you can watch the games and come to this conclusion. Quinn has dropped passes like this all season long. It's just now that it was at crucial moments and cost us the game that people are noticing. Quinn has been bad this year.

Why is Speedy even in this conversation? He is not here. He chose to go play for one of our division rivals. I don't care if he is better than our guys or if he sucks. He could be great. I don't care. He is not a Tiger. Trey Quinn is and I am happy to have him.

He hasn't really gotten the opportunity because of one bad game. Quinn has had way more drops this season than anyone expected. Shouldn't Diarse still get some chances?

Makes sense to me. And Diarse is a very good route runner too with great footwork. Seems like he deserves to see the field more.

But yeah, I liked Diarse from the very first game of the year. Thought he'd get more time.

You know how it goes with this coaching staff. A lot of shite they do doesnt make any sense.

More than Quinn has.

Fora guy that was touted as a sure handed receiver, he sure has dropped several important passes this season.

He's young and will improve. A lot of it last night has to do with sending him into traffic as the smallest receiver on the team in the SEC. With confidence, he will get better. He's still a true freshman.

We have more drops than pass attempts

Amari Cooper had some key drops that could have affected Alabama's chances. Maybe he shouldnt start? Besides, we use Quinn in all the wrong ways. There should be plays to get him the ball in space. We still havent seen him when hes at his most dangerous and thats with the ball in his hands in the open field.

Why is this thread not about Melvin Jones if we are talking about drops in crucial moments? What am I missing? Quinn's easy drop was no different than Dupre's. The poor throw that he almost caught actually probably worked to our benefit because we punted and two plays later had the ball at Bama's six yard line. I see a lot of misplaced blame in this thread.

I have no doubt that he will get better.

But if we need a receiver RIGHT NOW to go over the middle and make plays, shouldn't it be a guy who is capable of going over the middle RIGHT NOW and making catches?

Like people have said, Quinn doesn't look the same going over the middle since the hit he took in the Auburn game. He has a lot of drops this year, a few of them big ones.

I just think Diarse should bet more of a shot.

Read the OP.

If we used Quinn more effectively, I think he could be a lot better.

However, it's clear we aren't going to run these kinds of plays. If we're going to stick to our traditional uncreative offense, then he's not the best fit.

Diarse is bigger and stronger. Football isn't all about straight line speed, especially at LSU. Diarse needs more reps.

Melvin Jones is a fullback. So that's irrelevant. Dupre can go up vertically and catch a one on one ball. He brings that to the table. What does Quinn bring to the table?

We are talking about Quinn because he has developed a trend of dropping very catchable passes while we seemingly have a very viable replacement in Diarse not seeing snaps.

I remember when some people were touting Quinn as a "faster Landry" over the summer. Laughable.
