This cat ain't Coach K; and I believe you're smart enough to recognize that.

Our basketball team is in a tailspin. Come back and tell me how good we are at the end of TJ's contract.

I am, it was an example. Are you smart enough to realize how much rebuilding TJ had to do in year 2 because of the terrible shape this program was in under Brady?

In case you forgot; he won the SEC with Brady's players; NOT ONE OF HIS OWN. This team is TJ's I'd bet this team will not be any better than the last two he's had the pleasure of coaching.

And what did Brady do the year before with virtually the same team? Oh right, he got his arse fired for being a shitty coach.

He was on the same course as T.J. is on. Losers don't last long at LSU.

But TJ won with that team, so if the team was the same, why did TJ win while Brady got fired? Wasn't your original statement that TJ can't coach?

Where did you read that I said TJ can't coach? Please find it.

You won't be able to blame Brady for anything this year because this whole show belongs to TJ.

So you are implying he knows an X from an O? That's a joke. He just sits or stands on the sidelines with his arms folded with a perturbed look on his face. LSU basketball is sinking fast and no end in sight.

That wasn't you? My bad if it wasn't, I know someone said something about TJ not being able to coach. I agree though, this is the make or break year for TJ. Would you still be so negative on him if he finishes say 9-7 in the SEC and 3rd overall (remember no more divisions in basketball)?

9-7 is pretty optimistic, but YES, it would be a great improvement from the past two years.

I think anywhere between 7-9 and 10-6 is possible for this team, for the first time since probably 2006-07 we have depth and size down low. I think that's going to make a huge difference.

well if we did this extension for recruiting, it's not paying immediate dividends

I don't need to pretend, I look at more than 2 years of his resume, he's won at Nevada and has won at Stanford.
What about his resume is that impressive? Is it the two very good years he had at Stanford & Nevada? Those two teams were very good. Other than those two squads, his teams were no better than a few games over .500. His track record says he'd good for one stellar season.
He did not deserve an extension.

I think Aleva bought into the"its going to help recruiting myth"

It appears after losing top recruits it was indeed a myth

Trent needs a big season regardless of whether on not he could get Gathers. He did bring in a decent 2011 class. IMO this felt more like a vote of confidence more than anything.
