Nah, he won 3 in 2010 and 2 in 2009. It's still a small improvement. lets hope he can double the win total in the SEC from the last two seasons this year.

Woa - a Top 25 guy after how many years? Not impressed. LSU has sucked the last 2 years. Cellar dwellars in the SEC does not deserve shite.
Glad to see we accept such mediocrity.

everyone knew the team would be the worst in the Sec in 2009. Last year came as a slight surprise to me as I thought we'd win 6 SEC games but White and Dotson vastly underperformed.

Exactly, everyone (well every rational person) expected 2009 to suck. 2010 shocked me as well, fully expected White to play better than he did. I think for the first time in a long time we have both size and depth in the post this season, so I'm expecting that we will be much improved.

While some will say it's a sign of weakness of the team, I say Garrett Green leaving is actually a sign of the team turning things around. If a senior forward who was a big contributor last year is leaving the team because he knows he won't get to play much, it says something about who we have coming in.

So you are implying he knows an X from an O? That's a joke. He just sits or stands on the sidelines with his arms folded with a perturbed look on his face. LSU basketball is sinking fast and no end in sight.

Trent needs to play 500 in SEC and lose to no in state rent a win schools

I agree, But I was saying that winning 10 SEC games would be nice. Gonna be hard to lose to an in-state rent a win this year though because there aren't that many on the schedule as of right now. Marquette, BE/SEC Invitational, Boise, UVA, Memphis, and Houston are all part of the schedule this year if I remember correctly.

That's not what you said, you said he can't coach. I believe he was pointing out his success at Nevada and Stanford which pretty much proves your statement incorrect. And I'm pretty sure he took us to the 2nd round in the NCAA tournament in his first year and would have gone further if his team hadn't gotten royally screwed and got matched up with eventual National Champion UNC.

It wasn't the exact same team. The fact that Brady didn't have Tasmin is big, but Brady also had Randolph. Your point is good either way, TJ can coach if he's got half decent players... Unfortunately for him, the cupboard was pretty bare after that first season and it screwed him. At least it now looks like we are heading back in the right direction.

I am ready to end the Brady vs TJ argument. TJ has three years under his belt and it is time to stop blaming the past and move on.

This is TJ's team if he wins he gets the credit, if he loses he accepts responsibility

I'm okay with this. Let our recruits know the admin buys into Johnson's plan.

If the administration is comfortable with having to pay the extra year/years buyout should this year turn out to be another abysmal failure, then go for it.

With the exception of running a clean program with kids who conduct themselves well off the court, I can't point to a single thing Trent has done well the past two years.

While principle is important to me, probably moreso than most, it just is not enough to overcome the utter failure in recruiting, evaluation, long-term program planning, bench-coaching, etc. that Trent has overseen the last two years.

He's getting paid way too much for the crap he's produced. I'm pulling for Trent but it's time to show tangeable results NOW.

I don't think its that at all, but LSU is between a rock and a hard spot with all the La talent bout to hit the college ranks and they had to do at least this. imo

I think ever rational LSU basketball fan thinks this way. Recruiting has turned a corner (see Hickey and O'Bryant), but now those results need to show up on the court this winter. At least you aren't one of those people who are pulling for him and the team to fail because they want him fired.

Quit saying things that aren't said or implied. You pretend to know T.J. can win; I say his record speaks for itself. He hasn't won here; and until he does; STFU and quit defending him.

I hope so, but after being lured by the fools gold bouquets for Springer, Dotson and White, etc., I'm no longer blindly buying in...I'm gonna have to be shown.

Lots of glowing practice reports on Hamilton (from Macklin and others) but I heard the same about White.

I've heard mixed reports on Isaac. Anything from him will be gravey for me.

I watched O-Bryant in a couple of high school all-star games and while I think he competed competently against the best he seemed to lack some want-to and urgency, a weakness that was indeed pointed out in scouting reports on him. I don't know if that's something you can coach into a kid.

Hickey is an interesting study. We may have fallen arse-backward into a late-signing period gem. I want to believe that, but I won't allow myself that luxury. Show me Hickey.

What about the record that won the SEC and got him to the round of 32 and should have gotten him further if not for a crappy draw against UNC (a game they were in position to win). Everyone knew 2009 was going to suck because we had no depth and no matter what TJ did he just wasn't going to be able to bring in enough talent to cover the gap.

I don't need to pretend, I look at more than 2 years of his resume, he's won at Nevada and has won at Stanford.

He hasn't won here

Uhh, So the SEC title counts for nothing? he won that year

quit defending him.

Why should I? I'm fully well aware of his record the last two years, you want something interesting to look at, take a glance at Coach K's record at Duke his 1st, 2nd and 3rd season. Wonder if Duke fans wanted him fired then as well?
