Everybody in the building knew what play LSU was going to call. Didn't matter.

That was absolutely perfect execution getting to the basket with one dribble inside the 3pt line. Beautiful.

Don’t let anyone tell you that was traveling because it wasn’t.

This is a clear indication of how the game has changed. Instead of Reid rolling to the goal after setting the pick and giving the Waters the option to pass it to him as he slashes to the goal, Reid chooses to go out to the top of the key looking for a pass to shoot the 3.

If you look at almost any driving shot, you could technically call travelling. If you look at Tre's shot from the moment he cups the ball in his right hand, he takes 3 steps after that. That's not the way officials call it. Ever. Those are people who don't follow basketball who are griping.

Exactly. I'm sure Vitale and the ESPN bitches will make excuses too.

Not at all, no traveling whatsover, go back and watch it. He started his drive after the pick, and then hesitated on the Maryland big that came over to guard him, and then proceeded to drive past him and take a quick 2 step and go up for the lay in

If Naz rolls to the basket, his man would have been in position to come across and help defend the driver. Nazi stepping out Gabe Waters more room in the paint. Smart play,by design.

This is the exact play they called at the end of the Florida game in the sec tourney to tie it up except Maryland stayed on Reid so Tremont to it to the basket.

Precisely, and then you'd have Reid wide open going to the goal for a dunk off the pass from Waters, but it doesn't matter because it still worked regardless of him staying out top or not. I was just pointing out how much the game has changed with that statement with players now preferring to receive a pass out top now for a J shot instead of how they would slash to the goal looking for the pass in the old days after setting the screen.

The nudge at the top of the key by Reid was huge, gave Tremont a little glimpse of daylight and then he just made a great move.
