Over/Under on the dumbest offensive play in football this year? 5 per game?

really not that bad a play.

It has about the same success rate as a hand off up the middle

As long as we don't run the option to the short side of the field, which I find 10000000000000000000000000x dumber than a toss dive.

Pitching the ball to the best running back in the country & letting him pick a lane is far from the dumbest play in football. I would be thrilled with 5

If you knew anything about football you might not post stupid stuff.
One value of the toss dive is it presents "read" difficulties for the line backers. When they see a toss they are taught to react by moving to the outside since most tosses are for sweeps. That has the effect of giving the O-linemen a better blocking angle and of opening up the middle where the linebacker's movement has vacated. If they don't take that initial step to the outside, then a toss sweep will make them hesitate and get to the outside late. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
You are welcome.

It's dumb because it gives no advantage over a simple dive hand-off. You give the RB like a yard worth of space to catch a pitch when 2 300 lb DTs are bearing down. Pitching the ball is fine if its a toss left or right. Watch other teams to see if you ever see it.

It needs to be buried just like short side option.

One play that works that LSU rarely runs is the bootleg on goal line situations. BAMA eats people up with that play.

I love when a comment like "you know nothing about football" is made by someone who is basically wanting to say "I know everything about football". I played, so I would say I know "something", but not "everything".

All I know is that's a dumb@$$ play that doesn't produce results. If it did you'd see smart OCs at other teams using it.

Jeremy Hill says hi. He tore people up on this play. Fournette often did last year as well. It's not a bad play. You have equal of lesser chance fumbling off this versus a regular handoff.

If you did play, then you should know that the play is actually Toss Power O. A play that every football team in existence has in the playbook.

You just don't like it because you don't like Miles.

the rant thinks the toss dive is a dumb play.

the rant is dumb and doesn't know shite about football.

in real life (no xbox, etc) and in big boy football, the toss dive is a damn good play if you have a damn good OL and a damn good RB. therefore, damn good coaches call that play.

Watch Jeremy Gill's LSU highlights and you'll change your opinion. More than half of his long runs were this play.

Funny how people like to ignore the plenty of times that play works just fine. The toss dive isn't going anywhere, and it shouldn't.

kiffin and bama uses it. AND, our coaches chart plays and their effectiveness dumb arse. if the play wasn't effective, either by itself or as a set up for another play, theiy wouldn't use it.
