He may not even be the best player on our team. He has made some amazing plays this year, but I have yet to see him cover anyone one on one.

He's great, but RG3 is the best player in the country.

He is a game changer...he probably deserves to be at the trophy presentation.

Hyperbole, I'm sure, but just in case, do you remember him running step for step with Andre Debose and picking off the bomb? And this just one series after Debose beat Claiborne deep.

Is there a player in the country better than TM7

Offhand? I would say Mo Claiborne is better.

Look i love TM7 as much as anyone but these threads just show LSU homerism at its worst. Mo Claiborne is noticeably better than Tyrann to anyone who doesn't allow their fan worship to cloud their judgement

Claiborne is a better prospect because he's bigger and big for a CB but TM7 is the best player on the best team in the country and the biggest defensive playmaker in CFB since Woodson. Suh wasn't this consistent when he got an invite to NYC

I would argue that Mo's presence allows TM7 to do some of the shite he does.

I would take Meaux C #17 over the Honey Badger. Way better at shut down.

See the thing is though he's not our best player. Best playmaker and best player are two very different things. Mathieu makes the most plays out of anyone in the secondary in regards to forced fumbles and such but he also gets beat by far the most. Also its only bc the rest of the secondary is so fantastic that he's able to do the things he does. No one notices his missed tackles when he goes for strips bc Taylor and Reid are right there to back him up. No one notices that he's not that great at man on man coverage bc Mo and Simon lock up the other team's one and two. Look how ron brooks has done playing the same positon and role as TM
