No, Holliday held the school record in the 100 meter until richard thompson broke it this year. Carter was faster than hell, but TH was still faster.

what is thompsons 100 time?

it depends on what they're running. 100 TH is definitely faster but carter is probably faster in everything else

TH holds LSU's school record at 10.02 and thompson beat it at I believe 9.98, but I'm not 100% sure

He is at any distance approaching 100m. Holliday probably beats him cleanly at 40m and 60m.
Carter ran a 10.00 flat 100m at the Olympic trials in Eugene. He was last in the final heat. Holliday was eliminated in the semi-final heat. Holliday's fastest 100m (ever) was in Sacramento in 2007, and it was 10.02. I think his fastest time in 2008 was 10.03.

Well, technically, if we don't count Carter's times after he left LSU, then yes, it's 1.) Holliday, 2.) Carter and 3.) Brazzell (and probably 4.) Chris Cummings and 5.) Eddie Kennison but I have no records on that. But those are that last 5 true track guys to play football - Devery Henderson notwithstanding.)

I believe Slip Watkins was faster than Kennison and Cummins. He was a big-time grab for LSU out of Fla. but never panned out as expected.

Fastest football player (with the focus on people who actually consistently played) -- Sammy Martin. I'll never forget the little 3 yard pass in the left slot against Texas A&M and him simply outrunning everyone on the field to the endzone.

Slip Watkins went to training camp with the Detroit Lions back in 1991. I'd have to say that running on the football field during a game the fasted I ever saw was Eddie Kenninson. Curly never really used him properly, but Bret B. had "good" hands and ran "good" routes.

Please don't say "Top 3 Fastest..." again.

Kennison was not used properly by DiNardo.
There was a falling out with Kennison and Cummins with DiNardo over Track.
DiNardo did NOT believe in the two-sport athlete and tried to force both Kennison and Cummins to particpate in Spring ball only, but those guys sorta bucked DiNardo on it, which required Henry and DiNardo to meet about the situation. It was resolved, but both players had to give up some track workouts, but Kennison did not start the first few games that fall (Junior yr.) and when he left after his Junior year, a scout who came in to watch film, actually said, "why the hell wasn't this guy used more?"
DiNardo blackballed both guys in some ways, which is a big reason why we saw many two-sport high school players leave the state.
Cummins was an All-American in Track and was excellent in the 60m. Anybody remember him almost running down Rison of Mich State on a kickoff return. He came from the total opposite side of the field, had to run around two guys and still nearly caught him from only being about 50 yds out of the play.
***I was a part of the strength staff for 3 years so the above story about DiNardo and Track is factual info.
