Have to love your logic here, pointing to the result for evidence
Did you see what happened in the dome when LSU backed in?

Last 2 years, just for fun
The only coaches with established teams that haven't built up recently behind Miles are Spurrier and Ferentz. Meyer, Dantonio, Saban, and Stoops are all maintaing current success ahead of Miles. Strong is doing it between two schools. To me, it seems like there are some seriously overrpaid coaches outside of those 5.

4. Stoops -78% 11-2 last year, 7-3 this year

7. Spurrier - 70% 11-2 last year, 5-5 this year

In 2012, Oregon lost as a 20.5 point favorite at home to Stanford in the week after Bama's A&M loss. This was the loss that got Bama back into the Top 2 after the A&M loss.
If you lose a game, you will need help to get back into national championship game. Who cares what week that help comes in.

So then it was 3 times Saban needed a huge underdog to bail him out. Got it

2004 Auburn would like a word with you
How so? I said a teams final ranking is 1000 times more legitimate ranking than a preseason one. What is your point exactly?
Posted on 11/20/14 at 1:31 pm to Geauxgurt
The rankings were in season rankings, which is an indicator of how a team has played. Preseason rankings start getting adjusted quickly

You wanna go ahead and rank our talent level compared to those other coaches and see where we fall?

Spurrier has rebuilt USCe and that is a place much harder to win than at LSU.
Spurrier has been at USCe for 10 seasons. This record is only over the past 5. Surely you can recognize he had it built up after 5 seasons.

Dantonio rebuilt MSU and just got paid.
Dantonio has been at MSU for 8 seasons. This only shows the past 5. He really turned the corner in these last 5.

I guess Miles has nothing to do with recruiting that talent.

Negative. 10/12 wins is greater than 80%. 8/11 win is less than 73%. 10 wins >>> 8 wins. Where do you folks come up with this stuff?

SOS made USCe relevant. The 'Cocks overall record was below .500 before Spurrier went to Columbia.

Context. What you are getting at is irrelevant. We arent arguing the talent. We are arguing what has been done with said talent.

herp derp why don't you use the last 7 years?
How about because in the SEC West there are 5 coaches who haven't been at their respective schools long enough to compare with a coach like Miles who has been at LSU for 10 years. Unless you think comparing a 2 or 3 year coach to Miles is fair??
BOOM gotcha back BITCH

An both games you are trying to count happened in the first of the season, what's your point?
A&M was 2-2 after losing to Arkansas and was ranked 14th at the time of the game. They finished the season with 4 more losses, so I doubt their ranking was "legitimate"
Auburn was 4-1 going into that game after their NC and ranked 15th. They proceeded to go 3-3 the rest of the season. They were not a top 25 team, but according to you, they weren't propped up by preseason ranking at, right?
So they beat one ranked team in USCe all season. That doesn't make them a top ten team. It means their schedule overall was a joke.

I love how some of you Dilberts attempt to minimize LSU's accomplishments. Florida had to "back in" the year before and "campaigned their way into the BCS Title Game in 2006. Then they beat the crap out of OSU. Yet, but to some of you only LSU backs in to games, etc.
The FACT is that LSU played in THREE BCS Championship Games and won 2 of them. We have the damn Crystal to prove it. Why don't you go by sometime and see them? In your case it would probably to downgrade and criticize LSU's championships but go see them anyway.
Do you have any idea how many school would do anything to just get to 1 Championship Game much les win one and LSU has been to 3 and won 2?
Our fans sometimes act like little kids.

I predict this thread will devolve/derail into a bickering match about which teams deserved to be in which national championships.
ETA: Oh shite, 5 pages already. Nevermind.
ETA: I was exactly right!
