well, i will say this, they didnt throw his way alot, they gave him respect, so that says alot...

but with toliver and Savion smith coming in, plus the others like paris amongst others...it just doesnt hurt near as bad as losing beckwith.... think about how big of a difference he made when he took welters spot..

No, no you didn’t. This year our whole secondary was beat by people exploiting holes in the scheme. Very rarely was White beaten in man-coverage in his career at LSU.

Steele’s zone didn’t allow White to play to his strengths, which is man coverage. I can remember once this year (against TTU midget) that he got straight beaten in man. He is great at “sticking” with his man. Doesn’t have elite ball skills, but when we play man, he’s always on top of his mark.

Do you remember how filthy he was under Chavis? He basically shut down Amari Cooper and it wasn’t until they switched his coverage that Cooper scored. White graded out as elite in terms of “stickiness” with Pro Football Focus last year as well.

His weaknesses are ball skills, which are decent, and playing big physical receivers that can box him out (D’Runnya Wilson from MSU did this to him). But he is in position almost every time in man coverage. Great hips, speed, quickness, and athleticism.

Ready for an official announcement. I'm wary of "sources" now, as I'm sure we all are.

Not me. I use all the "sources" info to my advantage. I jump up, I slump down, I run around gleefully, I throw heavy things around in intense anger.

I use it as exercise.

Next year's pass defense IMO should undoubtedly be #1 in the country next year if White comes back too. You have everything you need. You have an incredible pass rush with Key, Beckwith, Bower, Godchaux, and sometimes even Jefferson or Adams attacking the QB. On the back end you would have college footballs best safety in Adams, you have 2 guys that are awesome in man to man (one smaller quicker guy in White and one big physical guy in Toliver), then you have an unreal amount of DBs with a ton of talent just waiting to be the next young guy to breakout at DBU. The entire defense will be filled with aggressive pass rushers and ball hawks. All you have to do is avoid the big play.

Don't forget about the guy that led us in sacks in Lewis Neal...

don't forget Jackson

He was really shaping into a good CB at the end of the year, not just an athlete.

I am really excited about him and Toliver.

Trey got "smoked" vs Ole Miss and Texas Tech. Not very good in either...
