Pulling for Bubba.
I hope Tom does well but he is not good enough to win it anymore

He doesn't have the length to win at the Masters.

He finished tied for 3rd @ Arnold's tourney, so he has been playing well lately.

Are you serious? He finished T14 last year and finished 9th in 2007. Length didn't matter then, did it? He still has the lowest score (29) on the back nine and the lowest 4th round score of 64. Toms plays well on this course because of his short game. I think this course plays to his strength - smart golfer, makes few mistakes, great short game, great putter. I am not saying he will win, but I bet he will be in the hunt and finish in the top 20.

Don't entirely agree with that but I see what you are saying, David's a great golfer and has been playing well lately. I agree with the length post though, I think you have to have it at Augusta, more than Toms anyway. Hopefully he can still win a few hundred G's

I agree with the length post though,
Zach Johnson - 189th in driving distance in 2010
Trevor Immelman - 164th
Mike Weir - 193rd DEAD LAST
Toms - 174th.

Can't argue with the numbers. But for the sake of argueing none of these guys won in 2010( I'm assuming all are from 2010, not just Johnson) Phil won it in 2010 and he was in the top 10 for driving distance

Johnson was 169th in 2007.
The point being, length certainly does help, but Augusta still places a demand on the short game.

Geaux Toms! I followed Toms around copperhead a few weeks ago. I am a big Toms fan.

This is true. I'm not sure of the exact stats but I would imagine, even though johnson was 169th in 07, that the majority of masters winners are in the top 20, or close to it. In the past 10 years most of the winners could hit the longball pretty well, probably in the top 50. (Also not sure if some of these stats are taken just from the tee box with whatever a player uses or with an actual driver.

He's one solid individual
I coached his son in basketball a few years back and he gives me players guest passes for the Colonial tourney
Cool Mofo!

A friend of mine and his wife went as David's guest last yr. Can't imagine how awesome that experience was.

If he didn't have the length to win it, he wouldn't be playing anymore.
