Everyone thinks the world of the strength coach Tommy Moffitt except me I suppose. Against the SEC, LSU has been dominated physically for the last 3-4 years and with all of the returning starters coupled with what I have seen on the tube, it looks like it will be the case again. Not even close. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Agreed, but he sure is proud of his pretty new weight room.

I have always stuck up for him but damn our o-line looked slow and weak

It's not strength and conditioning its coaching and technique. They look as lost on the field as Elmer Fudd does on the sideline

You're a moron if you think Moffitt has anything to do with this. He's the best in the business by far!

Totally agree but to dominate you really need both and we have neither and a head coach that looks to be part of stadium security.

First, if the D looked gassed it is because they were on the field 2/3s of the game because the offense couldn't sustain a drive. Second, the offensive line wasn't getting physically dominated. The problem was Wisconsin still uses an Aranda style front that is designed to confuse the opposition. Instead of adjusting to what they were doing by each player being sound in their assignment, they ended up playing lost. When the line doesn't play together, missed assignments make it look like the defensive line is getting a push.

Our players always look too lean

He's overrated, fallen behind the rest of the SEC strength coaches. Just look at the LSU players in the past 3-4 years getting pushed around.

Kinda hard for the LSU offensive players to dominate when the opponent knows what the play is and there's no attempt at misdirection or anything like that.

You're wrong.
Moffitt's one of the most respected in the industry.
He doesn't coach footwork, or technique. He doesn't formulate the offensive game plan.
Our guys are absolute physical studs, and you have Moffitt to thank for it. BTW, the NFL agrees w/me

I've been saying the same thing for the last four years. Just check out the bench press results at the combine of LSU players. Some will say bench press does not show true strength. I understand that, but it shows something. And we haven't that something since 2011.
We sacrificed mass for a more leaner football player, which is great against spread teams, but against power teams we look overmatched in the trenches. I knew from watching the first five minutes of the Wisconsin game we were in trouble, because we couldn't control the line of scrimmage with our physicality. Les Miles does not try to out scheme the opponent. He tries to out athlete or over power the opponent. Once a teams shows that they can withstand the physicality of LSU. It's pretty much over, because Miles has no other plans to try and defeat the opponent.

Actually he's known to be old-school and unevolving.

He evolved. Evolved us into a Pac 12 team up front in the trenches.

I would love to see moffitt get shown the door. Bring in some new blood with more focus on strength instead of yoga

It looked like they were getting a push because they were getting a push.

Moffitt was ahead of his time. When Saban went to Bama, he showed the SEC the importance of a strength and conditioning program and everyone else has adopted.
LSU is the same it's always been. Everyone else is just better.
That's why our "wear them out" by grounding and pounding over the last few years has become retarded.
