This OC resume is great. He hasn't been a head coach for very long. Is he experienced enough to coach in the SEC? Can he build a program or is he a short term success type guy. im just not comfortable handing the keys to a 1 year coach out of the AAC. We need a proven guy.

He has tremendous upside.

You're right about him being a risk though. All of the realistic candidates are a risk. You just have to pull the trigger on the guy with the most upside and be prepared to move on if/when you hire the wrong guy. Alabama has done that. Michigan did it. Notre Dame did it. It could happen here too.

Tom Herman boat-raced Saban's defense with his 3rd string QB.

you will be crushed with down votes but not from me. What you said is exactly what is going on behind closed doors right this minute. Talking through each coaching target. You should know better than to think through things. This is the Rant, just run and jump to a conclusion. The faster the better and say it with conviction so that everyone believes and agrees!!

Pair him with Aranda and we've got two of the best up and coming football minds in college football. What's not to like?

Who are you wanting? The world is bigger than LSU and honestly that world will prob provide a coach with a subpar resume. Hermann has no desire to come to LSU so lower your damn standards. You just fired a coach that went to two national title games. You'll get what you deserve.

Bama hired saban. No risk. Michigan hired harbough. No risk. ND just lost to Duke lol.

Whoever LSU hires will be a risk. Good chance the results end up being far worse than miles. But also a chance we could have better results. Most likely the results will be similar.

People need to remember Dan Mullen was once the prospect that Tom Herman is right now. Both coached under Meyer and were seen as offensive gurus. I would take Mullen, but only if we missed on several of our top choices.
