When you think about it, doesn't a part of you realize that the bcs got it right? The best two teams in the nation are matched up against each other playing for the NC. That's the point of the system and it delievered.

Also, if bama would have beaten us 9-6 in OT instead of the other way around, wouldn't you be calling for a rematch? I'd think most fans would certainly feel we deserved another shot even though we wouldn't have won the conference.

Anyone have the graphic ESPN showed during the selection show of the comparative win strengths?

Bama vs Oklahoma state who wins??

I know OSU was more "impressive" on paper in terms of wins, but who do you honestly believe is the better team of the two?

I love how that graphic never made it on the air at ESPN until after the final votes were in, lol.

I disagree, I don't know that they "got it right", and we'll never really know.

You "assume" that BAMA is the second to best team in the country, but we really don't know that. That question can only be answered on the field. BAMA had their opportunity to show they were better than LSU and came up short. OSU was denied that opportunity so that BAMA can try again, I think that's BS!

As to the what if it was the other way around...there would be a much better argument to support a rematch for LSU.

1) BAMA had the advantage of home field for the first game

2) LSU's "body of work" is much more impressive

That being said, I'm still not a big fan of the rematch.

In fairness OSU would have had that opportunity if they hadn't laid an egg 2 weeks ago against 6-6 Iowa State. It sucks for them, but they have only themselves to blame.

I didnt want the rematch for my own selfish reasons either.

Oklahoma state losing to Iowa state probably screwed it up for too many people. Bama losing to LSU is much better than OSU's loss.

Just saying that if the riles were reversed I'd want LSU in over OSU too.

This is Germans by now--Bama did not win its division, did not win its conference, lost to LSU at home, already had its chance. They got an early Christmas gift with the invite. The only good I see coming out of the snub of OSU is that we'll move closer to getting rid of the BCS and moving toward some type of playoff system.

Because we would have been laughed at because we're not Alabama.

And no they didn't get it right. We are the only undefeated team in the country, one of those wins being against Alabama. We played an extra game to win the SEC, and are the winningest team in the country. What is our reward? ... we get to play one of the teams we beat again. It's like hitting the lottery and winning your ex wife.

It does suck. You play a team enough you will win eventually.

This is going to backfire on bama. Let it gain some steam

What bothers me is if the roles had been reversed, we wouldn't be getting the rematch. They would have found reasons to jump somebody over us.

bama hasn't had a quality win since september. Computers loved Ok St all year, including last week, and now after beating OK they don't? What's really going on.

I don't think I buy that. I still think we would have gone had the roles been reversed.

You actually think we would have been treated the same as Bama? You think Bama wouldn't have petitioned for another team and got it? Reputation established by the media and its love for teams like Bama, USC, ND, Texas, etc. would have pushed us aside. Thats my feelings.

Actually this is the most "wrong" the BCS has ever been. It was created because in the old bowl system, there were often two undefeated teams who never got a chance to play each other, so they created a way to identify the top 2 teams and get them together to settle it on the field. OOPS! This one has already been settled on the field, so there's no need for this game. Amazing that people have forgotten this so quickly.
