Les is a great human being.
For many of the same reasons, he's a terrific recruiter.
He's not the best guy to ever coach on game day.

There will always be negatigers. But when Les Miles is gone people will be missing him. He's a player's coach and a good recruiter. The negatigers will be bitching about the next coach because he can't recruit as good or win as much.

He may not be the BEST game day coach but he's pretty damn good. People that think LSU has racked up all these wins over the years due to talent alone are asinine. See USCw or Texas for an example, rest assured they have the talent. Les Miles record speaks for himself.

He's the best FB coach LSU has ever had and maybe ever will have. It might take some people a little longer to realize that than others. I've had idiotic Arkansas fans tell me "I hope Les Miles stays y'alls coach for a long time, he can't ccoach a lick". I always say I hope so too. He averages almost 10 wins a year.

LSU's Les Miles took time out of preparing for this week's game against Western Kentucky to talk running backs and eternity with a Mountain Brook teen who is now home from the hospital and under hospice care. quote: As Miles lauded Western Kentucky's running back, Sid did what few probably have the nerve to do, and that is interrupt the coach mid-sentence. "We have a decent running back also,'' Sid told the coach, at which point Miles laughed and said, "We have a really good running back, not decent, we have a great one."

Les Miles is one the greatest college coaches of all time. He's a super coach, he's super unpredictable, he's super entertainment, and a super human being. At LSU "We have a great one". His name is Les Miles!

Nitwit, Coach Miles does a good job at game day,his critics are lacking either football knowledge or have their own agendas, you have to remember almost every body at ESPN are pushing somebody not LSU !

Do the people that claim it isn't anything CLM is doing to get these wins (its the buildings, its the staff, it's LSU's traditions, etc) not remember the other coaches that had the same advantages CLM enjoys and yet could not consistantly get wins on the football field?
I saw the down years of Charlie Mac and the mostly down years after him. I'll keep what we have now Thank You.

You really suck, vjm 41.What a jackass. The guy makes a post about Miles befriending a boy with terminal cancer and all you can do is belittle his coaching.

What a jerk and miserable SOB in real life you must be.Do everyone a favor and chug some Clorox.

I REALLY want our guys to put something in honor of Sid on their uniform or something this week. The story is truly touching and I can't imagine how it would make him feel in his last hours.

So we've moved on from Les Miles can't develop a quarterback and handcuffs the offense?

The thread is about our coach, not Sid.
There are other, terrific threads about Sid and Les's wonderful gestures toward him.
Les is a great human and leader of young people.
As a result he attracts great talent .
His attributes include great loyalty to friends.
This attribute as a person can be a drawback as a head coach.
Like the rest of us, Les has strong points and some that are not so strong.
