I'm new to this, looking for some feedback...I was and still am against the "promotion" of Ed O. I'm a die hard LSU fan, not Coach O fan, if that makes any sense...Anyhow, my question's are:
How long is the leash on Ed O, ?? How long of a chance/opportunity does he have to prove he can be a head coach? 2-3 yrs?
When he can't prove he can be a head coach, that's right "when", because he will depend so much on his OC's to get the job done, who will be next in line? Does Alleva go after "his guy" Jimbo (who I would love to see back at LSU) or promote Aranda? What other options do we have?
Thanks for y'all feedback!

I would say he has at least until after his first fricking game as our permanent head coach. Jesus Christ

whoa such an impossible concept to grasp, an LSU fan who doesn't approve of the coach? posting on this very website, no less?

how do I make sense of this? Truly unheard of!

we're all just along for the ride. try like hell to enjoy it.

this year's schedule is really rough. we'll all have learned a lot once it's played out. I am in no hurry to get to the end. I want to enjoy the hell out of this season.

If O doesn't work out, Alleva will be terminated.

Youknowit,
I see this is your first post.
As you now realize, your post, which asks some perfectly legitimate questions has received "responses" from the usual dicks and smart asses who populate this site in heavy numbers.
Ignore them and keep posting.
you will have some good exchanges for the most part to your questions and learn a few things.

If LSU football tanks this year Alleva is gone!

If CEO succeeds, then great.

But at least there's this bright spot if he doesn't.

Very slim odds CEO will do better.
Maybe you can point out the LSU FB tenure that was more successful?
I'll wait.

To answer your actual questions:

He has 3 years minimum. Everyone will know before that but it'll be at least three years of him as HC.

Jumbo is not his guy obviously. No one knows at this point except that Alleva won't be making another head football coaching hire during his time at LSU IMO.

If Aranda is still here maybe he gets a look but I would hope it would be more widespread than the last search

Since you can see into the future so clearly, could you hook a brother up with the winning mega millions numbers?!

O wasn't my first choice either, but LSU HC is not an elected office. LSU fans should hope that O is fantastically successful because we are all in the same boat, and unless he is caught doing something truly vile or illegal he will coach for a minimum of 3 years. While I can't embrace aTm false optimism, it is wise to remember that negativity is not a survival skill. Hard to recruit a kid to a school whose fans expect him to lose there.

Can we have one fcking O thread without mentioning Miles please?
Rickdaddy and PeeJ will be here to ruin this thread now.

As for O, we have to see how the season goes. Every point that could be mad was made 800 times in the other 400 threads we've had like this since he was hired.
