i love how everybody is predicting him to be way slower than what his goal is....if he is tryin to reach 4.3 do you think he runs mid 4.5's dont think so ....he probably is close to 4.4 or lower...but im not pro on 40 times as well as im sure none of you are here either...but he obviously runs faster than a 4.5...hell Andrew luck ran a 4.5... im pretty sure TM is faster than him IMO

Exactly my point. I think if he runs a mid to low 4.4 at the combine, that will be a great time for him. And thats a time that will turn some heads at the combine.

because realistically, he isn't going to run a 4.3. Not very many people do. And he wasn't even the fastest player in the defensive backfield at LSU last year. You can only get so much faster by working out.

This is where judging times based on who think would win a foot race doesnt make sense. Mo Claiborne ran a 4.5 at the combine also. Did you think that Luck was as fast as Mo?

I just don't think a 4.3 is very realistic for TMathieu.

Since you know he hasnt been working out the entire time he hasnt been playing....and IMO you actually would probably get faster by working on your speed than football practice and games...if he runs a low 4.4 now then 4.3 isnt unrealistic..

I certainly wish him the absolute best. I hope he gets inducted into the NFL HOF.

But being a great HS athlete is one thing. But you and I have seen him run in open field, and I do not think for a second he is 4.3 type, and I honestly don't think he is 4.4 speed. I predict a 4.55

Where in my post did I say he is lazy or hasn't been working. If you would have comprehended what I wrote, I simply said there is a ceiling. You can't just get infinitely faster by working out. Eventually you will max our your speed, so actually I was implying that I am sure he is working out hard, but there is eventually a ceiling.

Rob Brooks ran a 4.37. Brooks was faster than TM7. That is a fact. I don't care what you want to believe. I am just answering your statement that you love how people are guessing his time. It is unrealistic for TM to get anything in the 4.3 range. Griffins official time I believe was a 4.41. He isn't as fast as Griffin IMO.

guess there are just as many links showing both times...it all comes down to human error anyway...point is TM will run faster than 4.5

Not necessarily true. You can only get so fast when your at top speed, but there are ways to get better times. Technique, agility, foot speed, etc. Working on your starts, 10 yard splits, and finishing will help shave time off the clock. Just because your top speed isnt as fast as anothers, doesnt mean you cant have a better 40 time. The most important thing in a 40 is the start and first 10 yards. There are ways to get a better time just by working on that alone.

And there is a reason coaches and scouts look at the 10 yard splits. It shows who is the most explosive and quickest in the 1st split, and it shows whose top end speed is faster at the 4th split.
