his recruiting flat out sucks

Yes those first two years were brutal, but I will say (and have always said) you start recruiting guys when they are freshmen and sometimes younger. It's hard to step in to a new job and land good recruits that are seniors. I think this year we've really seen that first group of guys that he's had contact with for several years (O'bryant, Hickey specifically). Based on those guys I have confidence he can turn that aspect around

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are a mediocre team in a marginal conference, after 4 years. Hoping that this puts them on a roll, but let's not overlook some serious deficiencies.

They weren't recruiting Hickey for years.

Yea since the logical person thinks that with the 5 starters returning next year plus Morgan, plus probably a big man as a back up we are going to revert to 2010-11 form

People are having a tough time accepting that a black man is turning the program around. Remember what Tim Brando said a couple of years ago about LSU basketball fans or lack there of.

Maybe if I were sober right now. But with alcohol in my system, absolutely not

What'd he say?

Google "Tim Brando thinks LSU fans are racist tigerdroppings" and the thread should come up. I'm mobile at the moment.

In the second half. Not so much in the first. Shoulda kept Storm in.

But second half was solid. Our inability to put 40 minutes together all year has killed us.

so I should be negative until things change, then jump on the bandwagon?

Not yet. Don't get too excited by beating the bottom teams of the SEC. Yes LSU has improved, but they are no final four team. Johnson has had 4 years and has not produced a consistent winner.

Wasn't USC the worst team in the SEC?

No flame. Just asking?

LSU has been to 4 Final Fours. Ever.

Don't know why this is your basis of judgement at this point.

Not excited and ready to crown Johnson as the answer. I still think a change at the top is needed, although Aleva will not change because this is his hire.

while I guess you can make an argument that we are doing pretty good with the lack of talent and all but exactly WHOSE fault is it that we have such a dearth of talent over the last 3 years with little hope of that changing anytime soon?

LSU's won 4/5. Let's calm down with the fire Trent posts for now.

we have one of the most stagnant, ugly half court offenses i've seen...

as ugly as it is we still get 68 points, knocked down some early threes...if we could just be a little better in the half court

Why? Because it's taken us more than two years to build up something semi-respectable in the SEC? He may not be the answer but to say you want him fired at this point is silly, right now he's showing he's starting to turn things around

Not a hater. I am sympathetic towards Trent. When I see solid evidence of him coaching these players up in basic defensive skills then I'll on the bandwagon.
