Goddamn, someone as old as I am!

Yeah, I became a fan during the old Ark/LSU rivalry that used to be played in Shreveport - when Ark was in the SWC. No matter how much the Pigs were favored LSU had their number. The Razorbacks took LSU off their schedule because of it.

The 'Bama loss in 1987. A deep pain set in late in the 4th. Only love can begat that kind of pain.

When I saw (or listened to, can't remember, sadly) LSU beat Notre Dame in 1971 in TS and the cover of SI the next week read "Irish Stew for LSU".

I became a tiger fan by listening to the games on the radio with my grandfater back in the 70's, he died in 2001 but he still had the "Crazy bout Curley" bumber sticker on his truck.

November 4, 1972

I was 10 years old and cried when Bert Jones hit Brad Davis with the pass to beat Ole Miss 17-16.

To this day, I still despise everything about Ole Miss. And my oldest son was born on November 4th. Coincidence? No way.

If you let a W/L record determine how much you love the Tigers, then you're really aren't a fan to begin with IMO.

I first fell in love when I was taken to a spring game as a kid in the early 90's. Getting to meet Kevin Faulk and Allen Stansberry after the game sparked my passion.

I grew up in Cenla. Literally never pulled for another team. Dad played at Auburn, little brother is a gump (grew up in the 70s/early 80s - 3 channel world and Bama was on tv alot) who married a barner, and I have the heart of a fightin tiger, always have and always will.

Didn't have much choice, but looking back, after listening to the games on the radio, I'd reenact parts of the game on the neutral ground on my street, being Bert Jones, Brad Davis, Jimmy Ledoux, etc. A ten year old outside at 11pm was safe back then! Bombing my neighbor's house with Oranges the night Tulane beat us in 73 got me in trouble, but it must've been love to fuel that rage...at least that's what I tell myself.

For me it was the early 70's listening to the games on a.m. radio riding in the back of my parents' navy blue '66 Mercury station wagon from visiting family or going somewhere on Saturday nights. Or later in the 70's at Money Hill campground taking time off from chasing girls or playing in the game room/arcade to listen to the games on the radio.

1. Sitting through the 90s.
2. Bama 31-0, freezing cold 2002 in BR.
3. Wasting loads of money just for season tix for Football and Basketball.
4. Traveling across the country just to watch us play.
5. Taking multiple days off work due to 1/9/12. Yes it was that bad
