I think the biggest argument for Conference re-alignment has been the permanent opponents. So why keep thinking of it in terms of East and West. Why not north and south? You keep your games that are "untouchable" without upsetting the apple cart too much.

North
Mizzou
Tennessee
Vanda
Bama
R-Kansas
USCe
Kentucky

South
aTm
Lsu
Ole miss
State
Auburn
Georgia
Florida

Then you lose the permaponent and rotate your other 2 games between all cross-division schools. Ideally, we'd move to a 9 game conference schedule to keep the rotation moving quicker.

I'd actually rather lose divisions like basketball and let the 2 teams with the best record play.

In terms of accurate geographical spilt...

West:

Alabama
Arkansas
LSU
MSU
Missouri
Ole Miss
TAMU

East:

Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
USCe
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

Only change is trading Mizzou for Auburn (which is farther East).

If we are splitting states:

West:

Alabama
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Missouri
TAMU
Vanderbilt

East:

Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
MSU
Tennessee
USCe

Auburn and MSU move to the East, Mizzou and Vandy move to the West

In either case...Alabama stays in the West and any effort to move them to the East is gutless and smacks of fear.

Even if you went North/South, you still get LSU and Bama in the same division;

North:

Arkansas
Georgia
Kentucky
Missouri
Tennessee
USCe
Vanderbilt

South:

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
LSU
MSU
Ole Miss
TAMU

So...trading Arkansas for Florida

If we want a true championship, put Bama in the East and let them trash all of those teams all year long, every year.

Easy Money is like O, are you scared of Saban? Just accept a loss for now until he retires. To be the best you have to beat the best and play Bama very year.

The playoff committee just showed you how much they want the real blue bloods in there. If I was a PSU fan I'd be hacked. This was the perfect scenario for two teams from one conference to get in and nope...We NEED to play and beat Bama or we have no shot. That said I'm ready to see a rotating schedule just because I think it's more fair for all involved.

Agree. That does wreak fear. Why not make it a north south. Move Florida into our division and ship Arky to north is you want to change anything.
