It’s going to be LSU, A&M, Ole Miss, and Miss St. There’s no way in hell that the SEC would give LSU a pod as easy as Ark, Ole Miss, and Miss St. They’re going to give us A&M to allow all of the pods to be more balanced.

Quite frankly, that’s how it should be anyway. It makes the most sense. A&M is more of a rival to us than Arkansas, and we’ve played them way more times than Arkansas.

The most important factor is balancing the pods though. They’re not going to be that concerned about geography. It will mainly be about balancing the strength of each pod.

….more balanced?

A&M traditionally isn’t as good as Arkansas

I’m pretty sure Arkansas hasn’t beaten A&M since they’ve been in the SEC…

You’re being disingenuous if you’re acting like Arkansas’s program is stronger and has more potential than A&M’s right now. Arkansas is in shambles. Meanwhile, Jimbo Fisher seems to have the Aggies on the upswing.

It's time to let the pod idea go and stick with the current east and west divisions because LSU will be far better of.

But I was told this is all cyclical. Teams go up and down so you can’t go by which teams are good they said....Alabama /Tennessee rivalry is cyclical they said....Gotta preserve the rivalries they said....Tennessee will be good one day and Florida won’t be they said.....

But now LSU won’t get a pod of historical rivalries like ole miss, moo state, or even artificial ones like Arkansas because that would give LSU a competitive advantage vs other sec schools? What about all that cyclical stuff?

Bull, if it’s just two more teams added I’ll ban bet you they just move two teams over to the east and put two more in west.

Now I’m not positive if they are gonna do it geographically precise or not but if they do it’ll be the new two in the west and auburn and Alabama in the east

Think about it man, if they stay divisions then nothing has to change with how we crown a championship. If you go to pods it’s a damn book of new rules of who plays who and a million other things like the rotation and how they will crown a champ , they would maybe even have to add another week to the season so that there can be a semifinal of pod versus pod then the winner of one two pod side vs winner of the other two pod side.

We can either figure all that new stuff out and figure out where to play the semifinal if they do that, or just put the Alabama schools in the east and the big 12 schools in the west and bam your done, everything stays the same.

I’m telling y’all the odds of it being pods is much less than the odds they end up keeping it the same. It would be so stupid to completely change the configuration of the sec instead of keeping it the same.

The only caveat being, if the sec adds more teams between now and the first season of expansion which is 2025. If the big 12 folds then we would have them here sooner. Even if the big12 kicked them out instead of having 2 lame duck schools in there conference then they would still have to wait 18 months

Man I can’t let this go lol, how in Gods name could someone come to the conclusion that theirs a 0.0%,chance that they stay divisions .

That’s without me even reminding you that we recently did this and it stayed divisions. I haven’t even brought up the fact that theirs never been pods in cfb history

I’d rather play A&M every year. I’ve never been able to get too fired up about playing Arkansas ever since they joined the SEC. I use to live up there and they still hate Texas so bad let them have their old Southwestern Conference foe back. Playing a Texas team every year in my opinion helps us recruit that state better.

I agree, and in addition to being more balanced, there's no way they make a pod with just the last 4 teams in/former Big 12 teams (Texas, A&M, OU, Mizzou).

So this has Texas A&M and Texas in different pods.

With this logic they should put:

Alabama and Auburn in different pods.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State in different pods.

Tennessee and Vanderbilt in different pods

Fair is fair.

There's really no such thing as an easy pod because that makes the other three pods harder and you're paired with one of them.

So an "easy" pod still leaves a hard division.

Don’t be a dumbarse with your head in the sand. I’m not buying that logic at all. This isn’t about geography. It’s about making the pods balanced. Is it that hard for some of you to get through your thick skulls?

Furthermore, Texas A&M is more of a rival to LSU than Arkansas anyway. There’s a lot more history between LSU and A&M.

definitely. Divisions would be so much better. This pod crap is so gay

No it really is not a bad idea to have pods and then rotate so you play every team in the SEC quicker.

What is the point of expansion if you have the same teams play over and over.

Doing away with permanent opponent will be good also, these false or forced rivalries are not needed

Divide the teams by geography and let em play pods, nothing gay just a change you don't like.

You are a special type of Louisiana swamp stupid.

You think A&M has more history vs LSU than Texas.

Texas and Texas A&M have played 107 times.

Texas A&M has two wins vs LSU in the last 25 years and one of those wins was last year. Wow, very intense rilvalry there. A&M is below Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss as far as rivals go. Currently, they are not a rival to LSU.

Historically, Arkansas is a better football program than Texas A&M anyways.
