Makes a compelling argument, but is it too early? I think they should give him a look over the next two weeks

'Cuse and Troy should offer opportunities to get him in the game, but he's not going to solve the issue of us getting out worked in the trenches and I'd rather not Jarrett Lee him if we can avoid it.

I don't know about you but I would trust the judgement of a loud mouth Catlic HIIIII radio host over some amateur like Canada.

I'll be more than a little disappointed if Brennan doesn't get meaningful snaps these 2 games. If we stink it up in Florida, Brennan should start at home against Auburn.

Definitely don't want to Brandon Harris him on the road @ Florida. I want to see him operate a passing game with short routes that gets the ball out of his hand quick, he's got a fast release that should set up our playmakers better instead of throwing 15+ yard passes every time.

I just don't want Brennan to die with our OL protecting him.

Etling was FAR from the biggest problem on Sat. night. Matt references the 41-7 beating at AU 3 years ago. It would have been the same even with Brennan in the game. MSU still would have owned LSU's defense. The drops weren't on Etling.

Now, if you are "playing for next year" already, then I understand putting in Brennan and accept the results as part of the building process. Also, Matt is being a bit disingenuous comparing Georgia and Texas to LSU. Yes, they have played true Freshman QB's. But that is a result of injury vs. strategy. If Etling were to get hurt Brennan would play, just like the other two.

FWIW: I never have gotten the impression that Ogeron thought this team was all that talented. Him playing virtually all of the true freshman and comments that they didn't put championship goals on this team kind of cement that. Honestly, I think Brennan is going to be the starting QB by November because I think O is "playing for next year" (even if he doesn't specifically say so). The only way Brennan isn't the starting QB is if LSU gets to the Bama game 7-1

Fair or unfair, Etling only has one more loss left in his career. If/when that happens I think Ogeron "officially" moves on to next year by starting Brennan.

and if Brennan fails....then what. If we see Brennan, that means the wheels have come off.

Good post, and I agree with the etling assessment. He made a few bad throws, but people can't seriously think Brennan was going to save LSU that game. Plus Brennan is 200 lbs in wet clothes, and we want to trot him out there with that blocking?

I do slightly disagree about O's selling of the team. he should have been more candid about our issues, but then again "continuity" is what got him the job in the first place

I wouldn't mind Brennan getting work after the game is in hand, but once you pull that ripcord on starting him, there's no turning back.

I don't want to see the kid get pulverized by Alabama.

Sports journalists are always trying to goad a coach into playing a spotlight player like Myles before he's ready. They don't have our best interests at heart when then say those things.

It would be great if Condon could be a full co-host because then we would be assured of having someone on air that has some sports knowledge. Then Macaroni could continue his shtick.

It's not ideal but at least it's at home. And I would only do it if we wet the bed at Florida forcing O to look at the future.

I'd rather avoid this issue completely by winning.

I say do it.......Next years offense to suit Brennans strengths will be way more spread formations(which you can easily run from)with quick passes which will protect an average OL. Bring it on now...........
