I stand corrected. Thank you all for you input. Forgot about Lange giving up that run in the first. Hit batter with bases loaded. Right? Didn't get to see it. Other game ran late.

Fifteen scoreless inning is still pretty damn good.

Cannizaro had more pitching changes than his team had runs.

State had a really good lineup, but they couldn't manufacture a run if their season depended on it.

AC can't be criticized though.

I'm starting to wonder if the rift has something to do with AC wanting Dunn at Miss St.
I bet he at least entertained it.

Dunn did get a promotion and a new title.

Pitching is what wins in Omaha!
LSU pitchers coached by Dunn rise quickly through MLB.

I've heard rumblings from State fans that AC has indicated he wants to make a run at Dunn at the end of the season.

Then we'll take Gary Henderson and whip their arse again next year.

Cohen had just hired a new pitching coach right after last season ended and a few months before he hired Cannizaro as head coach.

The "rift" has to do with Cannizaro being duplicitous about how he handled his taking the Miss State job and he went back on his word to Mainieri that he would not recruit any players for Mississippi State who committed to LSU while he was recruiting coordinator at LSU.

Yes, Tanner Allen.

quote:

In addition to that, a long-time LSU commitment, Tanner Allen, withdrew his verbal pledge to the Tigers a week after Cannizaro left Baton Rouge. Allen, a Mobile product, signed with Mississippi State days later, telling AL.com that Cannizaro’s departure “changed things.”

"I was disappointed when that happened," Mainieri said Wednesday before embarking on the five-hour bus ride to Starkville. "I thought Andy and I had an agreement when he left not to poach players we had recruited."
