Here is a question for those who actually know:

What will eventually be done to the inside of the stadium dorm rooms? I know, from what I have read, there is a ton of abatement of asbestos in there.

Is there a plan to do something to make the rooms into something?

I know Alleva said something last year that the stadium could never again be used as dorms because of some obscure NCAA rules. I think you are correct on the asbestos issues too.

I would love to see them turn the rooms (maybe combining multiple rooms) into hotel space. Wouldn't that be the ultimate gameday package: tickets to the game, reserved parking pass for the lot next to the stadium, your hotel room is in the stadium, and maybe use the stadium club as a restaurant/bar the night before the game for those staying in the Tiger Den Hotel!

Asbestos is removed all the time. Now the cost is something I couldn't tell you but I couldn't imagine a hotel in Tiger Stadium not recovering whatever those costs are. Initial investment might be scary I guess.

LSU has had many companies come out to pursue renovating the dorms. But all too expensive. They are hoping with all new windows it might entice somebody to go trough with the renovation

I had an office in the west side dorm of Tiger Stadium for a couple years. They need all new water piping and electrical not to mention the asbestos removed. They tested the water and found traces of lead and ecoli.

I hope they replace those chain link fences between the arches and on top while they're at it.

What would they put instead? Wrought iron?

I don't think y'all are talking about the same fence.

I don't think you are looking at the right fence in the picture.

He is talking about the concourse fences below the arches. In the picture bbap linked, you can see what looks like wrought iron fencing (the vertical fencing below the arcs).

Ok, you are right. I was looking at the fence on the lower concourse (the one that currently doesn't exist) with the purple and gold umbrellas. I failed to look at the little detail between the trees. Good catch.

Download the trial version of Revit®. It's unbelievable how much easier it is to learn and operate than Acad.

If they do something with the dorms, it won't be a hotel of any sort. It would fill up with football season but would lose money the rest of the year. Lod Cook can barely turn a profit. I could imagine a stadium club type place or maybe even an extention of the Lawton room?

They are adding the 12 remaining suites, 6 each side. There will NOT be a berm though!

I think if they would include stadium tours it would still do decent during baseball and basketball season. A lot of people don't know about Lod Cook. When I tell people there is a hotel on campus they think I am lying to them.
