Besides the extra seats, the new expansion also includes some new added bells and whistles.

"The south end zone addition brings much more to Tiger Stadium than just seats," LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in the release. "As part of the expansion we have added two high-definition video boards, two additional LED ribbon boards and replaced the two LED ribbon boards that already existed in the stadium all in an effort to enhance the in-game experience for our fans.

"We are also in the process of installing a stadium-wide system that will allow our fans to have better cellular connectivity, which has become such a big part of the fan experience."

Don't forget, this past spring LSU resealed the concrete for the 3/4ths of the stadium that hadn't been resealed yet. The south end zone was resealed just prior to the beginning of construction on the SEZ expansion. As part of that, all the seats were removed, inspected, and either repaired or replaced as needed.

Also the north end zone video board was worked on as well...

...between the new corner video boards and the two new ribbon screens, we should see the ads spread out a lot more than past years.

And don't forget, both the home and visitors locker rooms are being redone....

Add in all the improvements outside the stadium, and this year the fan experience improved tremendously. And it was already very good!

Basically, the best just got better!

since I have no other way of checking scores while in the stadium outside of staring at that ribbon board and hoping I don't blink while a score goes by.

Looks great!

Is it white though?

Whatever I'm sure it will weather and be a duller color or they could just match the rest or something.

Still looks awesome.

Im sure our locker room will look awesome when done, but from the looks of the pictures shown above, seems like they will be not quite as nice as other home locker rooms in the SEC. Does anyone have some drawings of what the finished locker room will look like? TIA

When they say the scoreboard is now hd, does that mean it will also be larger? Because it's godamn tiny.

I was under impression that they were putting in a new north end video screen for next year.

But according to articles dating back from the video installation in 2009, it was already HD. That's why I'm a bit perplexed.

I want it to be BIGGER. 'merica!

"The most imposing piece of equipment on its way to Baton Rouge is a Daktronics HD-12 LED video display measuring approximately 27 feet high by 80 feet wide. The display, which will be one of the largest in college athletics, is to be installed in the north end zone of Tiger Stadium by the opening game of the 2009 season."
