Saban is the best coach in this era. He had not peaked until he came back to college at Alabama. He's better now than when he was at LSU imo

Dude...Don’t smoke crack.

Are you really of the opinion that Saban would not have outperformed what Miles did? Really?

Certainly Saban learned from his NFL experience and has applied that failure at Alabama, but are you really telling me that Saban, despite not finishing worse than third in the conference in five years, including his first season, would have ever been seventh?

Miles was fourth, fifth, and sixth in three of his last four seasons.

Title is misleading.

"bullshite about O at LSU", perhaps?

That's a good point, I may have gotten a bit carried away with the "little talent" comment. Still don't think it's comparable to what O was left with when you factor in the differences in the culture of the programs at the time as well.

It’s not comparable. Not even close. The talent that was here when Saban came still didn’t know how to win. The atmosphere of the program was in shambles, so Saban had to change it.

He did.

You could argue 2001 was Saban's best coaching job.

10-3, SEC Championship, Sugar Bowl win.

LSU started 4-3, then rattled off six wins in a row, which included a 35-21 win over Bama, a win over Arkansas, a team vying for the west crown, a defacto SEC West Championship Game against Auburn, winning the SEC Championship and stealing a national championship appearance for then #2 Tennessee, and a 47-34 Sugar Bowl win over Illinois.

Explain then

You are implying that the team that Saban inherited from Dinardo was void of talent and that just isn't true.

Ryan Clark
Reggie Robinson
Rohan Davey
Bradie James
Josh Booty
LeBrandon Toefield
Dominnick Davis
Norman LeJeune
Tommy Banks
Kendrick Allen
Jarvis Green
Brandon Winey
Louis Williams
Robert Royal

All talented guys many of whom played in the league at some point and I am sure I missed a few. Yeah their has never been a LSU team in modern history void of talent. Even Curly's teams had enough talent to be a bowl team if they had any kind of proper coaching. While some teams are more talented than others. It can never be said that a LSU team has very little talent.

The SEC and SECW wasn't nearly as treacherous as 2006 fwd. Saban escaped the annual skullfrick by SOS after '01, and it was LSU-AU in the west, mostly UGA SECE.
The SEC had 2 seasons with winning bowl record 2000-2004, while 2005-20015 SEC didn't have a losing record any season and a retarded bowl W%.

Oh yeah.

Les Miles was the best football coach that LSU ever had, ever. And, Ed Orgeron could be even better.

Yep.

do think O can too time will tell but shofar so good.

We have had the worst recruiting class in 15 years under O. We had our first loss to a Sun belt team. We lost to Miss State 33-9. Curly did better against MSU.

You must be out of your mind to think Saban and O are coaches in the same level.

Miles did just as good as Saban and do think O can too time will tell but shofar so good.

Miles had a better winning record than Saban, but you have to consider the fact that Saban was handed a much weaker program, coming of 2 consecutive and 7/10 losing seasons. Miles was handed a program 1 year removed from a National Championship.

I hope you are not a LSU graduate. Please tell me you are just a fan of the program and not a alumni of LSU

Saban is a arse hole and will also be one and I do not care about how many games he wins or NC's. My neighbor said who is that arse hole that LSU hired and I said you got it just an arse hole!!
