than in previous years.

Monday - player's not worn out like previous seasons.
Tuesday - team is healthier than previous games against Bama.
Wednesday - offense

Today will be defense. LSU gives up an average of 13.1 points per game(3rd best out of 128 teams). LSU has allowed 8 touchdowns all season. Even if LSU's defense does worse than their season average against Bama. Bama still may not score enough to win.

Bama has a freshman QB who will be playing in Deaf Valley for the first time. Aranda will try to contain his running ability and try to throw him off his game. It worked against Chad Kelly a seasoned veteran who is in his senior year. It stands to reason that he can do it against a freshman.

Some of Kelly's accolades coming into the season: Top returning quarterback in the SEC, Preseason All-America second team (Phil Steele) ... Preseason SEC Offensive Player of the Year (ESPN The Magazine, Lindy’s) ... Preseason All-SEC first team (Athlon, Lindy’s, Phil Steele), second team (Birmingham News) ... Ranked the nation’s No. 21 overall player by NFL.com ... Lindy’s tabs him as the No. 5 QB in the country and Sporting News the No. 6 QB ... Rated by NFL.com as the strongest arm in the nation and the No. 5 most accurate passer ... Tabbed by Lindy’s as the SEC’s strongest arm and most accurate passer. There was a whole lot more that I won't copy and paste here. Chad Kelly

The most points the LSU D has given up in a game this year was 21 to Ole Miss. The same Ole Miss team scored 43 on the Bama defense.

LSU has lost close games to Bama in the closing moments in the past. Was it Chavis and 3rd? Was it because the LSU was completely wore out by that time of the game? I don't know and don't care. LSU will not have either problem this year.

LSU's defense should just about have Aranda's defense down by now but I think there are still new wrinkles being added on a weekly basis. One thing is that LSU can and does run both a 3-4 and 4-3. If one is more effective, don't be surprised to LSU stick to it. If using both confused the freshman QB and offense then LSU will continue to switch between the two with different personnel or at least lined up in different positions.

Jalen Hurts has thrown 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. If LSU's DB's get an interception they are all capable of taking it to the house. Even if they don't return it for a TD it will be giving the ball to a potent LSU offense. Hurts strongest asset as a QB is his running. If LSU's DB's can shut down the passing game, Bama's Offense will become one-dimensional and will be shutdown.

Last year Bama had a very good passing game against LSU: 24 pass attempts 18 completions for 184 yards. That is 75% completion rate. If Bama with a freshman QB can't come close to those numbers LSU will have a very good chance to win this game.

We have to be able to shed blocks and make sure tackles on the bubble screens Kiffin loves to call. Hopefully the refs won't let the Bama WRs hold their asses off.

Tiger stadium was "DEAF" valley long before some idiot sportscaster didn't realize the proper word.

Saturday it will once again live up to the DEAF Valley moniker. Plus in my example the word deaf illustrates my point much better than using a name stolen from Clemson.

Agree. Was really surprised at how good of a job we did against Kelly, who has torched everyone, including Bama. Also agree that Hurd has not faced anything like he will face Saturday night. Road games have been against teams with poor defenses and only the Arkansas game was at night. In that game they were able to run at will so he wasn't tested at all. My key to the game is not giving them scores on defense and special teams. Think Donte is due for a kickoff return touchdown.

The refs will likely decide this game....again! I am not one to complain about calls as an excuse for a loss, but Alabama's style of play renders itself to this issue being valid. They set up screens and misdirection plays that create similar "space" (but in a more confined area) equivalent to what happens on a kickoff return or punt return. One missed call on a holding or block in the back creates an opportunity for the ball carrier to take it to the house. Bama runs so many of these plays that it's predictable that at least 1-2 big plays will be made due to missed holding calls. ALL THE MORE REASON FOR LSU TO PLAY THAT GAME TOO! CREATE SOME SPACE FOR LF OR GUICE AND DARE THE REFS TO "CALL IT BACK". AFTER 1-2 OF THOSE PENALTIES, THE REFS WILL BE SCARED TO LEAVE THE STADIUM WITHOUT A BEVY OF (ALABAMA) SECURITY GUARDS.

I've noticed this too....they never see any holds or blocks in the back on these types of plays....except when the other team does it...
