Benny Logan was also a three-star.

I hate when people spew shite. Tyrann was a 4 star, top 200 player.

Also ranked the #1 cover corner that year. His stock went way up after he dominated at camps.

Same for Tre White, went from unranked to 3 star, then 5 star after dominating camps. All within like a year.

Tyran Mathieu was a consensus 2 star. Just throwing that out there.

No he wasn't. He blew up after shutting down Jarvis Landry at a Tennessee summer camp.

Doesn't matter how may *s they have. Its what you do with them once you get them. If you cant coach em up they wither and die. (see auburn) If you have the coaches to get em ready to play even a 3* can win the Heisman (see Bama and Mark Ingram, Bamas FIRST EVER Heisman winner)

Maybe we should just recruit 3* kids and turn into Miss St, Kentucky, Vandy, etc

TM7 got his 4th star eventually, yes, but he was a 3 star before he entered the Vols camp which was his recruiting breakout.

So you are saying he was a 4 star?

Every 5 star on the board right now was at one time not even rated!

Jacob Hester was a 3star.

I thought he was a two star. He even joked that he brought down the team recruiting ranking when he committed.

He is one of my all time favorite Tigers.

Every 4 star that is borderline becomes a 5 when they commit to Bama. Same as borderline 3s. Rankings only benefit one team in this process of recruiting. Who will have the #1 recruiting class when it's all said and done? Just keep going after LBs and get an efficient OC and LSU will be better off the next few years than we have been in the previous 6 or 7.

Several studies have shown that 5 star kids have a higher success rate than 4 and 4 stars have a higher success rate than 3. Etc. saying stars don't matter is just wrong.

49% of all 5* recruits make in to the nfl. By far the biggest % of any *.

Recruiting sites actually do a great job. 1200 recruits sign every year. The sites pick 30-35 out of those 1200 players and they hit on 49% of them. Thats astounding.

A plethora of 5 stars recruits lead directly to championships. People that says stars doesmt matter dont know what they are talking about.

Actually way more than that sign every year, which strengthens your argument that sites do a great job.

I'm amazed we have this discussion every year....

You have on average 50 recruits labeled 5* maybe 150-200 labeled 4* and then thousands at 3* so of course they would have more. They also have more miss as well.

Measurables.. And yes coming from a bigger school does matter. The 3* ranking doesn't mean they aren't as good as a 5* but the 5* is usually ready to play as a freshman where the 3* needs more development. But after a year or two of development they may be just as good or better

Rankings/polls are mostly bull shite but-

Glad to see we are accepting mediocrity, because that's the mentality.

Some of the 4 and 5 stars have already matured. Some of the 2 and 3 mature late.
