Coleman was shut down in the fall but pitched Saturday and looked pretty good.

Coleman passed up a pretty big signing bonus in the 2023 draft to come back. You have to admire the guy for betting on himself.

We haven't mentioned him because he had a quiet 2023 and was shut down for the fall but I'm expecting big things from him this year.

Anderson was a top 100 prospect before his injury in high-school. Players and coaches keep making positive comments about him. The amount of really good lefties on this team is the only thing that is going to limit his playing time.

Noot was a really high recruit out of high-school with one of the strongest arms to make it to campus. He is ahead of Shores in his recovery and it's going to be interesting to see what he has when he comes back. It might be something similar to Coleman Last year or he could be a really big addition on the back end of the season.

You have to love the depth Jay has built. I can't wait to get this season rolling.

I have always been a casual baseball fan. But last year I really jumped in with both feet. I’m excited to see what this version of Tigers look like.

I forgot to mention Primeaux. His velocity is up this year. Jay keeps throwing his name out there. Guidry said his slider is the single best pitch on the team. That's saying something.

Ooh I love a good wipeout slider for strike 3 pitch.

Did a championship have anything to do with that?

When his only consistency is consistently injured, then we can start looking at him.

So what if it did? That’s why winning is important…if you win people will follow and spend money going to games etc.

I won’t watch men’s basketball until they start winning or make it in the tourney.

I think someone, maybe Jay but I was thinking it was a player, said Primeaux’s fast ball was up to 98

That’s wild if Primeaux is hitting 98. He is only 5’10 and was supposedly topping out at 91-92 when he got here. Usually don’t see short, squatty guys making huge velo jumps.

Noot is going to be interesting. His profile coming out of HS was that he had great stuff, but didn’t dominate how he should. Really unfortunate that he is having to work his way back from injury instead of having 3 solid years of development. Shores, same thing.

It’s not just the bonus, but the team. He was drafted by the Dodgers. They’re one of the best player development orgs in the majors. And they don’t treat any draft picks like filler, they look to develop everyone in their org.

So he passed up one of the best pro opportunities on top of whatever the bonus was.

I’m holding off on trying to get my hopes up too much on some of them. Especially guys that are still young or are coming off of an injury. I think we are obviously better depth wise, I just hope it will be enough to make up for the step back we will take offensively.

Primeaux went from 91 in 2023 to 93-94 this fall

I hope our offense is still explosive, but it is good to see the arms we have just in case.
